Being a big fan of Wallace & Gromit, it's not surprising that I'd watch this short film about the series. It's a nice behind the scenes look at the evolution of the films as well as a chance to see Nick Park--who sounds an awful lot like Wallace, if you ask me.
There are two problems, however, with the film. First, soon after the short was made, it was already out of date. By the time I'd seen it, CHICKEN RUN, WALLACE & GROMIT AND THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT and the "Shaun the Sheep" series had all come and gone. These are huge projects and greatly expanded the reputation and skills of the folks at Aardman. And, talking about Wallace & Gromit without the newer projects is like ending Cinderella when she goes to the ball--there is just so much more to the story that you want to see and learn more of but unfortunately it isn't there! Second, at only 15 minutes in length, this still is way too short a time length to discuss such wonderful characters and their creation. Seeing the voice actors, showing the sets and getting more interesting background information really would have been appreciated and was sorely lacking.
