Michael Raven delivers an embarrassingly poor feature for Wicked, spotlighting contract girl Carmen Hart in cornball fashion. In the BTS short subject Hart gives a quick history of her banal route to XXX (the usual stipper/model deciding to go hardcore and luckily discovered by Wicked's Jessica Drake & Brad Armstrong), while the feature presents an intentionally stupid fictional story about her.
Raven ill-advisedly attempts to mix humor into the sex scenes, and the result is footage that is neither funny nor arousing. Supporting femme cast is poor, other than fellow contract-star Kirsten Price, who gives Hart a place to live after the Southern girl splits upon catching her husband Eric Masterson in the act of being unfaithful (a blow job from Chloe Dior).
Third wheel in the Price household is Barrett Blade, for the thousandth time just playing his same old sleazy character, who introduces out-of-work Carmen to the porn industries. Raven piles on the cliches, and his depiction of Jonathan Morgan's stereotypically coarse director of gonzo content is old-hat, as is the always hammy Evan Stone typecast as a egotistical porn stud. No surprise that Carmen the very innocent young thing finds self-realization as an instantly proficient sex performer opposite Stone.
This sort of self-reflexive material has done many, many times before by lazy pornographers, with "Candy Goes to Hollywood" a typical example. Raven should have known better.
One irony is that Blade's character is seen humping while holding a camera, saying he's working on his POV-camera line of porn. Currently, over a decade later, he's busy cranking out identical POV-camera porn starring his own dick for his label Bad Daddy POV, exploiting crypto-incest situations. Reality mirrors art, so to speak.
