Are there truly fascistic white brotherhoods in South Africa? There's plenty of prejudice left over from the apartheid era but this film went too far.
And why were the two leads speaking French? I had thought for a moment that the film was dubbed, but it wasn't.
There was never any doubt at all in my mind as to how the film would end up. The question simply was how, what would lead up to the final break.
The resolution, when it came, was not credible. How Simon had been found by Jacob was an enigma and that he revealed himself so obviously was just not true to life. At least it finally led to an ending.
I don't recommend this at all. It's a nasty, brutish film full of impossibilities. Avoid.
