This short begins with a guy at the door. Apparently his brother lives there with some other room mates, so he's invited in to wait until the brother returns. It's obvious this visitor is an odd guy, as all he does is talk non-stop about his best friend, a love bird that is perched on his shoulder. Unexpectedly, a tragedy happens and the bird is killed. The problem is, while it's sad about the bird, the way it died was a tad comical and the men in the apartment have a hard time not laughing at the situation.
This is one of about 100 short films that were recently posted by IMDb on its site. Compared to the thirty or more I have so far watched, BIRD FAN is among those that I didn't particularly love. While I didn't hate it, I just felt that there wasn't enough material to justify a short film--like I was missing something. Sure, the guy's bird is killed and in a sadistic way it's kind of funny....so what?
