I first saw Jerry Sroka in Godspell long ago, and really loved his performance. I've kept looking for more than just guest spots for him over the years simply because I really enjoy seeing him work.
While trying to find something musical that my granddaughter might enjoy ( and considering putting Godspell on the list), I saw this credit on his page. I watched the trailer, and then I learned that it's free to watch with Amazon Prime (yes!!)
That being said... this movie is a Boomer generation *gem*!! The references and call backs are wonderful. ( I had forgotten that Mariette Hartley "schtupped" Spock on TOS). The chemistry is lovely to watch and it really draws you in when the actors literally put so much of themselves into a film like this.
So why only 9 of 10? Because I wanted it to be longer. I wanted more of watching this sweet relationship grow and develop. How much is really true? I would have to say, "enough to make you feel like you've met some new friends who have shared themselves with you".
