It's refreshing to see a short film that has a story; y'know, a beginning, a middle, and an end, maybe a conflict, some sort of climax, and a resolution. This one not only had all of those, it was actually engaging enough to have me on the edge of my seat. I saw it at the SSG Short Films festival last year and just came across it again on Vimeo. Just as good as I remembered it. The cinematography is beautiful, and though I usually find it obnoxious when independent filmmakers shoot in black & white, I found that the colorizing process they did actually lent to the period effect. The score is surprisingly lush and passionate, and the writing is poetic. All in all, an easy recommend, well worth the 20 minutes it takes to look it up and watch it.
