When a swimming instructor gets himself in a gambling debt, gangsters offer him a way of erasing it: smuggle a package into Korea.
I have to admit: the premise of a diver being made swim drugs into the country was superb, and 30 minutes in, I was really enjoying the characters and events as they unfolded; by the hour mark, however, things were nowhere near what they seemed and I had my hopes up for this being a cracking thriller.
Unfortunately, come the ending, something was missing. A big something.
It's difficult to pin-point exactly where this picture goes wrong as it's pretty gripping for the most part, and where I'll omit a couple of things from this comment to not ruin the film for others, they did mar the viewing pleasure somewhat for me... but they're opinions.
If you want action, look elsewhere, as this is more about the characters. If you want a nautical adventure, again, this film's mainly about the set up. If you want to relax to a bit of drama, enjoy a thriller without having to guess each player's motive, then this could well be worth a couple of hours.
I enjoyed it... just not incredibly.
