I knew this drama was such a hit in Taiwan last year but I didn't have time to watch it until the Christmas break! I'm neither a supporter of Taiwanese dramas nor a great fan of the main leading actor, Vic Chou - in fact he is the only actor I know in this drama; I found this drama incredibly amazing!
The storyline in season 1 is interesting and special, especially when the main character, Liang Yan Dong, is going all out to prove that he is innocent in the murder case of a stewardess. A special mention to Vic Chou, his acting is undoubtedly the main highlight and shining focus in the drama. His eye contacts with other characters, his body languages and his tones are perfect! Although the storyline in season 2 is much weaker than season 1, Vic Chou is capable to act his best and make audience to stay on because of his character and acting. Liang Yan Dong is such a complicated and uncommon character in Asian dramas, but Vic Chou proves to the audience that his versatility and talent in acting add value to the whole drama. I'm still extremely surprised to watch Vic Chou's in his acting in Danger Zone despite I know he has been transformed successfully from a popular Asian idol to become a sparkling and charismatic Chinese actor in Asia.
Unfortunately the storyline in Season 2 is a little disappointing. It becomes less eye catching when new character Yang Yu Lu comes in and the plot has been more inclined towards police characters. To me, the police characters are poorly performed by other actors. Not just because of their characters but also the way they act. I don't see the point of them shouting unnecessarily at all times and the fight scenes are really terrible.
Even though there are some weaknesses, this drama still deserves a good rating because of the overall storyline, the acting of Vic Chou and the efforts spent by production team. This is still a great Asian drama to be watched!
