It's a wonderful remake! I strongly recommend it, especially for the excellent scenario from an upcoming writer. The truth is I am a bit skeptic about Greek productions, but this one will surely amaze you in a positive way. It is a light at the end of the tunnel of Greek cinema. I would like to emphasize the fact that the writer is also the producer, which leads me to believe that he not only has the will to make the movie, but also the guts. Because you have to have guts if you want to remake a classic Greek movie without slipping on the too romantic aspect of this issue nor on the sex-drugs-and-rock-and-roll trap that every single other Greek movie is about. This story is written in a way that one can interpret it in different ways. You can watch how people interfere with money, love and each other.
The older version of the story is about the story of a coin that in no way deficits the proverb 'money makes the world go round'. This movie is about a bond. There is a direct, in my point of view, reference that as time passes by, the human nature hardly evolves at all. Thus not an avant-gard movie, there is some breaking news: we can produce new material, new ideas after all, in previously existing forms. Well, maybe after all that's what we are missing: chasing the avant-garde thing, we've forgotten all about the most vital element of a movie: the plot and how Aristoteles thought of it. Well, Mr. Christodoulou doesn't miss this target.
