Of the Vivamax library of films, this is one of my favorites. Stella (Ayanna Misola) and Dado (Sid Lucero) are partner sex workers who are trying to get ahead in life and in Stella's case, help her disabled brother who needs care. Both of the leads give solid performances.
Later in the story, Baby (Hershie De Leon) becomes a third wheel of sorts. She fits the bill nicely. Hershie is always a nice addition to a Vivamax film.
The direction, camera work, lighting, blocking, etc are very good. The script is adequate from time to time, but when it falls short, Ayanna Misola has a way of delivering lines with a tinge of deadpan humor, intentional or not, that alleviates dialogue shortfalls. I've noticed Angela Morena, another Vivamax actress, also has that performance trait. Angela and Ayanna can both march through bad script and somehow seem adorable doing so.
The ending of the film was a bit forced and contrived, but I must admit, I was not expecting it to end the way it did. No spoilers here.
Ayanna Misola has moved on from making "sexy" movies and has now moved over to the "wholesome" genre. She made 10 or so sexy films, reaching A-lister status, and I can wish her nothing but the best. I do have some hope that maybe in 5 or 10 years she'll return for a reprise in the sexy genre. Vivamax actresses Gwen Garci, Jamilla Obispo, Sheree Bautista, and Shiela Snow have all given great performances deep into their 30's. I have no doubt Ayanna could do the same if she catches a second wind for it.
If you enjoy the Filipino sexy genre, I recommend this film.
