Women Seeking Women 89

The 89th volume of this girl/girl series plays quite differently than usual, but is not always on the mark for fans of Sapphic sex addicted to the Girlfriends Films. I knew while watching it had to be someone else at the helm other than the label's fearless leader Dan O'Connell who usually is in charge.

IMDb reveals the uncredited director to be B. Skow, who made many boy/girl features for Girlfriends release. He lets his scenes meander, taking improvised dialog to a boring extreme, and misses the romantic and old-fashioned comfort of O'Connell's approach.

Cast is attractive but far from A-list, perhaps in keeping with the show's subtitle: Exotic Beauties. I found the story set-ups to be dumb or obscure or both. One is completely confusing: two Black players Leilani Leeane and untalented Layton Benton in an undisclosed relationship, with poor continuity leaving me scratching my head as to what the point was, other than building to standard XXX action.

The late Yurizan Beltran is a glory to watch (as always) in a dumb cat & mouse story with beauteous neighbor Daisy Marie. But there scene takes tease, a format Skow has milked endlessly over the years, to its extreme: the typical viewer is likely to scream at the screen "Get on with it already!" as the two of them keep stalling before finally hopping in the sack.
