V/H/S/Beyond

Firstly, the found footage/POV horror genre is terrible. It's just a fact. But I've been pretty vocal about the fact that the VHS series is the only exception to that statement. These work because they're not really an investment. Essentially a collection of short films. It works really well that way.

Having said that, I'm always looking forward to these movies. I've been a big fan ever since the first one got released and I'm glad that they've stuck with it.

This one is honestly right up there with the last two (99 and 85) both of which I thought were very mediocre. If not really crap at times. Especially 99. I think this one is better than that one for sure. I appreciate that the first and last segments are the better ones. It kicks it off with a bang and ends it decently too. But unfortunately everything in between is horrible. I really didn't care for those segments at all.

I still think this is a serviceable movie. I'll probably even watch it again but I can't praise it really.

Ok I'll praise the special FX. There were some impressive ones here.
