Catherine Tate's Nan

With Jamie in Africa, nan gets some help from a schoolgirl, who's mission is to cheer the old lady up.

Up until this point, we'd only seen Nan as part of The Catherine Tate show itself, but for many people, Nan was the standout character from that show, question is, was there enough material to keep a full 30 minute episode going?

The answer, of course there was, who doesn't love Joany Taylor, the wonderful Nan makes you belly laugh from start to finish. Perfectly performed by Tate, this is half an hour of pure comedy gold, with Nan trying hard to get her taps fixed. Favourite moment, had to be where Nan speaks to Jamie from a hospital bed, someone else's.

It's a little strange seeing Nan without Matthew Horne, his time here is actually very limited, but a young Ami Metcalf more than makes up for it.

Wonderful, 9/10.
