The story of one man who tries to save his car factory

The rise and fall of the opportunistic Tanase Scatiu, a boyar in 19th century Wallachia.

Romania in the years 1939 - 40. The very talented and successful architect Ioanide, an idealist, is dreaming that the intellectuals will get the power in Romania. Sequences of the legionary movement, with the life of the intellectuals and the high nobility, are mixed in a tremendous drama.

The plot confronts an influential surgeon and a carpenter accused to have stolen the doctor's personal belongings from the beach. The neurotic doctor involves himself in the inquiry, ultimately directing the interrogation. The burglary victim, Theodor Hristea, a surgeon at the peak of his career and social life, self-confident and well connected, his girlfriend, Cristina and their common friend, Stefan - find themselves on holiday near the summer resort of Mamaia. The doctor has a detective passion and accuses - just on account of a physical resemblance with the real thief - a young carpenter who happens to come at the same beach the day following the burglary. The police is summoned and The Kid is sent to trial. The doctor plays an active part in the investigation. Although the doctor's girlfriend and his friend doubt the identity of the accused, the surgeon insists in being right and succeeds in sending the innocent young man to prison.

An outdoors orientation contest turns into a journey to the participants' self and conscience.

Stefan Iordache is Prince Cantacuzin, a cultivated man that lives in a small burgh or borough where "nothing ever happened". Based on the short novel, "The Place Where Nothing Ever Happened" by Mihail Sadoveanu, the film is the story of Cantacuzin's hidden love for his pupil he mentored since early adolescence, until her being married by her stepfather. Daria Mazu, coming from an unfortunate family, with an epileptic brother and a drunker stepfather, and a fortune the latter wants to have for himself, even if that meant getting rid of the children, was tutored and brought up a young lady by Cantacuzin and Mrs. Ortac, which nurtures some feelings for the Prince. When a friend of Cantacuzin dares asking Daria from her father, a set of events sets in motion. Daria's crazy brother appears from nowhere, throwing fits in her married woman home; her father quarrels with her husband for the dowry and an old debt; Daria herself confesses her love to Cantacuzin, who's also confessing, but taking no action, at the beautifully filmed ball scene; and the brother kills his stepfather. In the final scenes, Daria and her brother go deep into a deep morass/lake, to escape from it all. Daria is trapped between the principles Cantacuzin instilled in her, once with the education he provided her and her own bovaric instincts, that do not allow her settle for the quiet existence in the borough. Beautiful classical music, beautiful footage.

In an allegorical tale, a luxurious hotel is ruled like a communist country. The ignorant views of leaders and the social stratification are the main focus.

Despite her love for Luci, Sorina believes a life with security takes precedence over romance, and moves in with the good samaritan. Meanwhile, a jilted bride (Tania Popa) and her mother (Coca Bloos) enlist the help of of a private agency to find a proper husband for her, but the wealthy Italian man they select has more than a couple of undesirable traits. Later, Michaela's (Popa) father, a police captain, finds out that Luci's cousin is dead, prompting him to remember when the two boys fled from Romania by swimming across the Danube on an inflatable doll. The cousin had made it across, but Luci had been arrested and thrown into prison.

Paul Hanganu loves two women. Adriana his wife and the mother of their daughter, the woman with whom he's shared the thrills of the past ten years, and Raluca the woman who has made him redefine himself. He has to leave one of them before Christmas.

In the morning, after the disillusionment of the remake he experiences with his former friends, he returns to his wife.

One letter starts the ball rolling and ugly characters start revealing themselves in a burlesque-like fashion.
