With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers assemble once more in order to reverse Thanos' actions and restore balance to the universe.Saw this opening night at Broadway Newmarket Event Cinemas with my dad. We didn’t buy tickets in advance but the 2nd row wasn’t that bad. Yes, I did cry but this is no doubt the best movie of 2019.
- DirectorMakoto ShinkaiStarsKotaro DaigoNana MoriTsubasa HondaSet during a period of exceptionally rainy weather, high-school boy Hodaka Morishima runs away from his troubled rural home to Tokyo and befriends an orphan girl who can manipulate the weather. This is a movie where you’ll either cry and really enjoy it or it won’t be your cup of tea. The second time I went with my friends Raffy, Niko and Jalen. Both times were at Broadway Newmarket.
- DirectorLulu WangStarsShuzhen ZhaoAwkwafinaX MayoA Chinese family discovers their grandmother has only a short while left to live and decide to keep her in the dark, scheduling a wedding to gather before she dies.Always wanted to see this movie but never got around to it. So I managed to watch it on my flight to Melbourne. I loved this movie so much and it highlights how Chinese people can reconnect with their heritage I guess and it’s a really good movie if you are Chinese because of that.
- DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsLeonardo DiCaprioBrad PittMargot RobbieAs Hollywood's Golden Age is winding down during the summer of 1969, television actor Rick Dalton and his stunt double Cliff Booth endeavor to achieve lasting success in Hollywood while meeting several colorful characters along the way. This is probably Tarantino’s best work since Pulp Fiction. A love letter to the 1960s and the tale of two best friends and their random stories over 2 days and 1 night. Super funny, quite extreme and a must see. I was lucky enough to get invited to the premiere by Flicks NZ and saw it with my Dad at Rialto Cinemas Newmarket.

Soon, he receives help from Mysterio, a fellow hero with mysterious origins.I ended up seeing this with my family at Queen St Event Cinemas. Thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was a great finish to the Infinity saga. Twist was expected but you definitely need to see the end credits scenes. A high-school coming of age story with a superhero story subplot.

- DirectorOlivia WildeStarsKaitlyn DeverBeanie FeldsteinJessica WilliamsOn the eve of their high-school graduation, two academic superstars and best friends realize they should have worked less and played more. Determined not to fall short of their peers, the girls try to cram four years of fun into one night.
- DirectorJ.J. AbramsStarsDaisy RidleyJohn BoyegaOscar IsaacThe surviving Resistance faces the First Order once again in the conclusion of the Skywalker saga.A mostly satisfying end to the Skywalker Saga. One thing I did note about this movie was that the pacing felt incredibly off, it felt as if I was trying to watch a 3 hour movie in 2 hours which means everything happened quite fast. I managed to see this on opening day with my friend Finn at Event Cinemas Broadway.
- DirectorJake KasdanStarsDwayne JohnsonJack BlackKevin HartIn Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to rescue one of their own, the players will have to brave parts unknown from arid deserts to snowy mountains, to escape the world's most dangerous game.I loved this and it was just as good if not even better than the original. However, when society shuns him and brands him as a freak, he decides to embrace the life of chaos in Gotham City.I’ve never sat in a cinema where I could feel that everyone in it was uncomfortable... until I saw this. - DirectorNahnatchka KhanStarsAli WongRandall ParkJames SaitoEveryone assumed that Sasha and Marcus would wind up together, except for Sasha and Marcus. Reconnecting after 15 years, the two start to wonder--maybe?Even though it’s a Netflix movie I absolutely loved this one. - DirectorAnna BodenRyan FleckStarsBrie LarsonSamuel L. JacksonBen MendelsohnCarol Danvers becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.I was gonna see this with my friends for my birthday party but everyone bailed. I still got to see it on my birthday but I went with my family and we saw it at Event Cinemas Broadway. I quite enjoyed this movie as a solo story and thought it was pretty funny and did a good job at telling a story good enough to keep me entertained until Endgame rolled around.
- DirectorJosh CooleyStarsTom HanksTim AllenAnnie PottsWhen a new toy called "Forky" joins Woody and the gang, a road trip alongside old and new friends reveals how big the world can be for a toy. After watching all 3 Toy Story movies on repeat as a child the adventures and stories that each of the characters had been on will always be held close in my heart. I didn't really know what to expect from this movie as I felt that the franchise had had the perfect ending with Toy Story 3 already. But nonetheless I was impressed that it still had the will to be an emotional and powerful film. I saw it at Event Cinemas Queen St with my family.
- DirectorDanny BoyleStarsHimesh PatelLily JamesSophia Di MartinoA struggling musician realizes he's the only person on Earth who can remember The Beatles after waking up in an alternate reality where they never existed. After seeing the trailer for this movie I had such high expectations for it. It seemed like such a unique, interesting and fun concept of a film to explore the music of The Beatles without actually being about any members of the band. However after I finally got around to seeing it at Event Cinemas Queen St with my family I felt a little underwhelmed by the whole story. The middle was slow but the ending was satisfying at least.

- DirectorMichael DoughertyStarsKyle ChandlerVera FarmigaMillie Bobby BrownThe crypto-zoological agency Monarch faces off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.“Too many monster fights. Not enough story” but what the critics don’t realise is that’s what a Godzilla movie needs to be good. I saw this with my buddy Louis in Newmarket Broadway Event Cinemas.
