This version of "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" was designed specifically for the Game Boy, and is unlike the console and computer versions of the game. It is a mix of a side-scrolling run-and-gun and a puzzle game. Set in both 2029 and 1994, you begin the game in the future as John Connor fighting your way into Skynet in order to obtain a T-800. After the Terminator is reprogrammed and sent back in time, you take on the role of the T-800 in the present day where you have to protect John Connor during a motorcycle chase, break into Cyberdyne, and ultimately destroy the T-1000 at the steel mill.

Designed for various computer systems, this version of "Terminator 2" combines a variety of gameplay styles (beat'em up fighter, side-scrolling shooter, top-down driving, puzzles challenges). The game's levels are based on prominent scenes from the film and intercut with digitized clips from Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). Save the future by helping Sarah Connor escape from a mental institution, evading the T-1000 on a motorcycle and in a police car, solving puzzles to repair the T-800, bringing down Cyberdyne Systems, and ultimately destroying the T-1000 at the steel mill.

In Terminator 2029, the player is a member of John Connor's Special Operations Group tasked with destroying Skynet. The game is a first-person shooter, although restricted to the 4 compass directions (i.e. turning, using the arrow keys, spins the player around 90 degrees). The character is wearing the Advanced Combat Armor with configurable slots for easily switchable weapons. This comes in handy, as new weapons and attachments are acquired throughout the game. The cross-hairs are moved using the mouse, with the left button being the trigger.

Designed for the NES, the 8-bit version of "Terminator 2" is a 2D side-scrolling platform shooter. The plot of the game loosely follows the film, as the T-800 beats up bikers, out-runs the T-1000 on a motorcycle, rescues Sarah Connor from an asylum, takes down Cyberdyne, and destroys the T-1000.
