In the series premiere, the 10 junior competitors are thrown into the spotlight to present a 30-second live audition, explaining why they should be named the ultimate winner. Then, they cook a dish that represents their food personality, as well as provide a Snapchat cooking tip.

Magicians looking to fool Penn and Teller this time: Joseph Reohm pulls drinking glasses out of thin air, Brent Braun does a card-finding trick, Chris Rose offers Teller and Alyson a chance to win some cash by repeating everything he does with a glass of milk, a cookie and a nail, Charles Bach plays a guessing game with balloons, and finally Penn rips into some newspaper headlines with Teller.

Confidence is the key when the five junior finalists are tasked with selling unusual ingredients to an audience. Later, they are stuck with odd foods again, in a challenge that will result in an elimination.

The six junior finalists work in teams of two to prepare a tasty two-item Sunday dinner. As part of their challenge, they must live-stream a tip about their meal.

The junior finalists turn on the charisma, as they pitch two of their favorite lunch dishes to mentors Tia Mowry and Donal Skehan, who are joined by special guests Loni Love and Neel Sethi, when deciding who will be sent home this week.

The celebrity recruits are introduced to unique tropical flavors and then given the task of replicating Hawaiian poke and pork dishes.

Celebrity contestants compete in the Season 9 premiere, which begins with Anne Burrell and Rachael Ray assessing the skills (or lack thereof) of their celebrity recruits, who are asked to cook a dish, using some unique ingredients from Hollywood gift swag bags. Later, instructions are given for how to prepare a simple steak and eggs dish.

The three remaining finalists shoot sizzle reels as they shop for ingredients. Back in the kitchen, the kids must prepare and present their final dishes, while their sizzle reels are played back to the mentors.

The competition revs up for Season 7, with six family teams taking part in a funnel cake eating contest at a theme park in Los Angeles, where they will later feed a hungry crowd.

Season 6 comes to a finish with the final two teams arriving in St. Louis, where Tyler challenges them to create three dishes, with three different proteins, in 30 minutes. Then, it's off to Chicago.

Three teams arrive in Tulsa, Oklahoma and are shocked when Tyler takes away their phones and Internet, which forces them to rely on landlines and maps to navigate around the city. The next day, they compete for customers at one of the last drive-ins on Route 66.

The final four race to Texas, where steak determines how much seed money each team receives. Later, a speed bump is encountered; and an elimination occurs during a visit to the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo.

The five teams arrive in Santa Fe, N.M., where they are faced with hot weather and hot flavors, when Tyler challenges them to use peppers to create a dish that's representative of the city.

The teams travel to Arizona, where they learn the local delicacies of rattlesnake and rabbit sausage must be incorporated into their dishes, which they must sell from pink jeeps.

Seven teams of food truck owners begin Season 6 by peddling their signature dishes on the Santa Monica Pier in California. Next, they travel down historic Route 66, stopping in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

The Season 5 finale brings the remaining two teams to Florida, where they have to demonstrate what they have learned throughout the race as they vie to make the most money and win the top prize.

Three teams remain, when the competition arrives in Mobile, Alabama, where host Tyler Florence challenges them to cook, locally. Also: he wants everyone to add a brunch dish to their menus.

The final four teams arrive in St. Louis and are greeted with a challenge involving a premium food product. The next day, they are given the chance to double their week's till.

Time-management skills are tested when the teams arrive in Oklahoma City, where they are forced to embrace local favorites. Included: steak dishes are mandatory on Day 1; prime meat is grounded by hand to make fried-onion burgers on Day 2.

The trucks pair up when in Austin for a Match.com event; and on the next day, switch trucks and sell their partners' food. Later, Tyler reveals that the elimination comes down to a $6 deficit.

The teams are told to come up with creative marketing campaigns when they arrive in Tucson, where they also face the challenge of putting their own twists on a hot dog, loved by locals, and performing a catchy jingle at a folk festival.
