- 25 titles
- DirectorsGerald PottertonJohn BrunoJohn HalasStarsRichard RomanusJohn CandyJoe FlahertyA glowing green orb that embodies ultimate evil terrorizes a young girl with an anthology of bizarre and fantastic stories. An anthology of all sorts of weird ideas.
- DirectorJean-Pierre JeunetStarsSigourney WeaverWinona RyderDominique PinonTwo centuries after her death, a powerful human/alien hybrid clone of Ellen Ripley aids a crew of space pirates in stopping the aliens from reaching Earth. Not very well assembled, but good production design, good ideas, and its never boring.
- DirectorWilliam GreféStarsWilliam ShatnerRuth RomanJennifer BishopA conman seduces and scams lonely women out of their money, killing them afterward. When he targets a widow, her daughter grows suspicious of his intentions.William Shatner as a total nutcase. That's all you need.
- DirectorHideo JôjôStarsToshio ArikiKeitaro AzumiSlappy CortezA Female Japanese trucker trying to pay back her father's bills helps a prostitute reform by taking her under her wing while dealing with a drug trade, police, and other crazy characters.I don't know what to say about this. Its funny, its sad, and kind of crazy. I can't give a good description- you have to see it to know what I'm talking about.
- DirectorsEvan GoldbergSeth RogenStarsJames FrancoSeth RogenRandall ParkDave Skylark and his producer Aaron Rapaport run the celebrity tabloid show "Skylark Tonight". When they land an interview with a surprise fan, North Korean dictator Jong-Un Kim, they are recruited by the CIA to assassinate him.Very immature humor but I laughed anyways.
- DirectorPaul VerhoevenStarsElizabeth BerkleyKyle MacLachlanGina GershonA mysterious young drifter who calls herself Nomi Malone hitches a ride to Las Vegas, where she finds work as a stripper and sets about clawing her way to the top of the Vegas showgirls. The writing, you have to hear it to believe it.
- DirectorNoriaki YuasaStarsEiji FunakoshiHarumi KiritachiJunichiro YamashitaFrom out of the arctic comes a gigantic flying, fire-breathing turtle that sets its sights on destroying Tokyo.A Godzilla wanna be with a very original monster.
- DirectorsShigeo TanakaNoriaki YuasaStarsKôjirô HongôKyôko EnamiYûzô HayakawaA giant monster that emits a destructive ray from its back attacks Japan and takes on Gamera.Worst of the original Gamera movies, but has some good monster action, a decent adventure plot, and bizarreness to still be entertaining.
- DirectorsNoriaki YuasaShigeo TanakaStarsKôjirô HongôKichijirô UedaReiko KasaharaVolcanic activity unleashes a bloodthirsty monster called Gyaos that Gamera must confront.More monster action than the last with more enjoyable moments.
- DirectorsNoriaki YuasaShigeo TanakaStarsKôjirô HongôTôru TakatsukaCarl CraigGamera the Flying Turtle falls under the spell of evil aliens, but two children free him and he returns to fight the aliens' monster, Viras. The best of the original Gamera movies- it's the little things here that make it great.
- DirectorNoriaki YuasaStarsNobuhiro KajimaMiyuki AkiyamaChristopher MurphyAliens kidnap two children and take them to another planet for the purpose of getting knowledge from their brains, but Gamera follows and tries to rescue them. This movie has alien women who want to eat kids' brains so they can learn to live on earth. That's all I have to say.
- DirectorsNoriaki YuasaShigeo TanakaStarsTsutomu TakakuwaKelly VarisKatherine MurphyWhen an ancient statue is moved for display in Expo '70, a giant, vaguely Triceratops-like monster is released. The monster goes to Japan in pursuit of the statue and ends up battling Gamera, the giant flying turtle.Like the other Gamera movies, this movie has kept a tone with a younger audience in mind, but is easily the most violent of all the original Gamera movies.
- DirectorNoriaki YuasaStarsKôji FujiyamaDaigo InoueReiko KasaharaSpace aliens arrive on Earth with their giant shark and intend to take over the planet, but first they must destroy Gamera. At this point the Gamera movies have become formulaic and run out of steam- but this movie is not without any weird and great moments.
- DirectorsNoriaki YuasaShigeo TanakaStarsMach FumiakeYaeko KojimaYoko KomatsuUsing several clips from previous Gamera entries, this film deals with alien forces sending all the monsters Gamera has faced in one final battle to rid the planet of its last hope.Doesn't really fit in with the original Gamera and is really a standalone title. While most of the monster footage is just highlights from the other movies, it's the unbelievable stuff that goes on with the human characters that make this amazing and absolutely forgives the lack of original monster footage.
- DirectorHideo JôjôStarsAsamiSlappy CortezMack De'erensNami finds herself taking care of her formal high school rival's son while she infiltrates a Yakuza drug/sex ring. Madness only ensues for both. Not quite as good as the original, but the tonal changes were even greater.
- DirectorJohn WooStarsJohn TravoltaNicolas CageJoan AllenTo foil a terrorist plot, an FBI agent assumes the identity of the criminal who murdered his son via facial transplant surgery, but the crook wakes up prematurely and vows revenge. It's like Nicholas Cage and John Travolta were competing to see who could ham it up the most.
- DirectorMark L. LesterStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerRae Dawn ChongDan HedayaA retired Special Forces colonel tries to save his daughter, who was abducted by his former subordinate.Arnold Schwarzenegger 80s action at its finest.
- DirectorAlan GibsonStarsChristopher LeePeter CushingStephanie BeachamIn 1972 London - a century after his final battle with Professor Van Helsing - Count Dracula is resurrected by occultist Johnny Alucard, and goes after his archenemy's descendants. This Movie starts off like the previous Hammer Draculas, then after a modern day setting during the opening credits, there's a party scene that just goes on that has little to do with the actual movie, and then the movie plays out like a Hammer Dracula should. Very entertaining though.
And also, Peter Cushing is excellent here. - DirectorAlan GibsonStarsChristopher LeePeter CushingMichael ColesIn 1974, Professor Lorrimer Van Helsing investigates a satanic cult on behalf of Scotland Yard, only to discover a plot by Count Dracula to commit global genocide. What is this movie?? This is awesome, but a failure at the same time.
- DirectorLucio FulciStarsChristopher ConnellyLaura LenziBrigitta BoccoliAn archaeologist opens an Egyptian tomb and accidentally releases an evil spirit. His young daughter becomes possessed by the freed entity and, upon arrival back in New York, the gory murders begin.Makes less sense than the standard Fulci fare, and the entire thing's pretty ridiculous, but that doesn't mean it's not fun.
- DirectorDanny SteinmannStarsMelanie KinnamanJohn ShepherdAnthony BarrileStill haunted by his past, Tommy Jarvis, who, as a child, killed Jason Voorhees, is sent to a secluded halfway house in the countryside, where the killing of a young man triggers a brutal series of murders in the area.Complete over the top random nonsense.
- DirectorJohn Carl BuechlerStarsTerry KiserJennifer BankoJohn OtrinJason Voorhees is accidentally freed from his watery prison by a telekinetic teenager. Now, only she can stop him. There's stuff here that makes part five look normal.
- DirectorAdam MarcusStarsJohn D. LeMayKari KeeganKane HodderSerial killer Jason Voorhees' supernatural origins are revealed.I was expecting these movies to get ridiculous after part 8, but absolutely not like this.
- DirectorJames IsaacStarsKane HodderLexa DoigJeff GeddisJason Voorhees is cryogenically frozen at the beginning of the 21st century, and is discovered in the 25th century and taken to space. He gets thawed, and begins stalking and killing the crew of the spaceship that's transporting him.As goofy and ridiculous as expected, but also kind of shockingly well done as the same time.
- DirectorRob ZombieStarsScout Taylor-ComptonTyler ManeMalcolm McDowellLaurie Strode struggles to come to terms with her brother Michael's deadly return to Haddonfield, Illinois; meanwhile, Michael prepares for another reunion with his sister. The weirdest Halloween of them all- But not the worst either.
