NARA RODRIGUEZ

César, vigorous in his 60s, runs a vineyard near Barcelona. The week he learns his vines have worms, a former associate calls: César is a retired hit man and the call blackmails into one final murder - of an accountant exposing political corruption. César tells his daughter, who's about to marry, that he'll be back soon - and goes to the flat in the city set up for him across the street from the accountant. There are complications: he becomes a favorite of women in the building, the accountant befriends him at a market, and he sees his son-in-law entering a house of ill repute on the street. There's also a female cop dropping by. Can César navigate his dilemmas?

A loop through the lives of three street urchins, barely into their teens, pickpockets in Barcelona. While Migue and Mara make love on a rooftop, Ahmed, a Moroccan kid who's come to Spain thinking it full of money and nude women, goes to get beer. As he leaves the bodega, a fancy car pulls up, men jump out. Ahmed shouts up to Migue, who slips on shoes and runs. The chase across the rooftops involves leaps, flights of fantasy that take us back. The fearful shout of Mara becomes the cry of Migue's mother years before. A brick of hashish stolen from a fat man brings them cash for a celebration. Beer and sex: life doesn't get any better.

Dante travels across a desolate, futuristic Spain in search of his girlfriend, Ula. He is pursued by a bloodthirsty, cybernetic Rottweiler.

Luis, a successful writer in his thirties, travels to Begur (a small town in the Costa Brava) with the intention of finishing his last book. When he asks his ex wife for the keys, he finds out that she has sold the house. Knowing that the new owner is away from Spain on a trip, Jorge moves in to what used to be his house determined to finish his work. However, Elena, the new owner's daughter, decides to spend a few days in Begur. From this point on confusing situations bring the main characters closer and further away from each other.

Veteran actor Pablo Thevenet has no luck: His daughter has been murdered, his wife has left him, he finds no job and his agent wants to leave him - current directors will never give him a role. He hates current talentless stars on TV talk shows. Suddenly, he finds some job - as a living sculpture in a whore house working for a Mr. Reficul and his transsexual assistant Dora Grizzel. Pablo becomes an artistic murderer, searching for those he thinks responsible of his current state. He also meets job partner Tic-Tac, an ex-prostitute who will sympathize with Pablo. Pablo also attracts the attention of unusual producer Ambrose Fuch, who wants him to act and direct movies. Everybody seems to have something to hide - including serial killer Pablo.

Lola is a gypsy of uncertain origin, since she was adopted by a family where she has grown up in gypsy customs and traditions. About to finish high school, Lola plans, against her family and her social environment, to continue her studies and pursue a teaching career. But just then she falls in love with Juan, a gypsy from her neighborhood. The girl is torn between starting a family, renouncing her independence, or continuing studying, despite the opposition of her parents.
