All* the horror movies I've seen roughly in order of how much I like them
This is not a list of favorites. This is a list of all the horror movies I've seen so far, so only the top few dozen or so on the list are ones I'd consider favorites. I've just recently gotten into watching & reading more horror.
...That was ~September 2020 when I started this list. I've watched a lot of movies since then.
*Really it's _almost_ all the horror movies I've seen because I split horror-comedy into a separate list: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls505577476/ If it's more horror than comedy (or a pretty even mix), then it's on both lists. If it's more comedy than horror, then I removed it from this list.
Also, any "creepy" or "scary" kids movies I've seen are not on this list. I have a separate list for them here: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls082990934/
I'm including the "The Haunting of..." shows because a mini-series is close enough to movie for me, as long as the story is no more than one season long. Also, I wanted to show that I liked them better than most actual horror movies I've seen.
Two honorable mentions that were listed as horror, but didn't make this list because they aren't really horror are Enter Nowhere (sci-fi/mystery) and Errementari: The Blacksmith and the Devil (dark fantasy/folktale). Both would probably be tier 4 if they were on this list.
I separated the list into tiers because just having a list doesn't show where the gaps and almost-ties are. So:
Tier 1 Top favorite horror movies I've seen: #1-6
Tier 2 More favorites: #7-25
Tier 3 Greats: #26-50
Tier 4-5 I liked it t1, t2...
(I didn't feel like keeping all these tiers updated... The line between "I liked it" and "It was okay" can depend on my mood, but it's probably somewhere between #123 and #148.)
Tier 7-8 It was okay t1, t2...
Tier 9 "It was okay" is being generous: #200-228
Tier 10 My time would've been better spent reading random Wikipedia articles (meh. I've seen worse): #229-247
Tier 11 My time would've been better spent studying the nutrition information of cat food (I don't have a cat) while watching reruns of Family Guy (I hate that show): #248-254
Tier 13 My time would have been better spent trying to wax my back hair a square inch at a time while listening to elevator music and being stabbed in the kidney by a creepy doll with a sharp paper clip. (The absolute worst I've seen): #255-257
This list order may not match up with the number of stars I give a movie. This list is strictly for how much I like a movie personally. But when I choose how many stars I give a movie, I try to be (slightly) more objective. (If I were being more subjective with stars, the bottom three movies on this list would all get only 1 star and that only because I can't give a zero-star rating.)
