Jane Dykstra is on yet another book tour when she encounters a violent confrontation outside her hotel room. Will Jane intervene? Or will her best-selling author alter ego, Rachel Hardin, take over and do something about it? A re-imagining of Stephen King's short story "Rest Stop."

Jane Dykstra, a mystery Novelist on a 4 hour drive home, stops at rest area to take a break. She hears a woman being abused in the bathroom, and needs to decide who she really is and what she's willing to do.

Based on the short story by Stephen King (Rest Stop). Acclaimed mystery writer Johanna Dykstra finds herself struggling to deal with the occurrence of daily life when a pen name becomes an alternate personality in the form of Rick Hardin. Johanna's disgust and resentment towards Hardin becomes a constant debilitating factor of her daily life. One night an unexpected encounter happens at a deserted highway rest stop. This event poises, the often times malevolent, Rick Hardin as an uncanny hero. Johanna Dykstra eventually comes to accept Hardin as a necessary evil due to the unforeseeable dangers and risks of the world around her.

John Dykstra, a mystery novelist better known as Rick Hardin, stops at rest stop on his way home. When he hears a woman being abused in the bathroom, he's forced to decide who he really is and what he's willing to do.

During a night drive John stops at a rest stop near a highway. When he enters the building, he hears how a man is abusing a woman in the ladies room. John doesn't know what to do and he starts to struggle with the idea of intervening.
