Rangers go after bandits holding up Wells Fargo offices.

Tip Douglas is sent after cattle rustlers, the same rustlers that murdered his father. Posing as a notorious outlaw, he is able to join the gang. Learning that the gang's boss Thorn Evans killed his father, he and sidekick Pepper set a trap when he learns of their next raid.

Just after Carson's gang murder members of a wagon train, Rusty and Clem come along and are arrested. Knowing they are innocent Judge Coleman breaks them out and sends them after Carson. They join Carson's gang to learn of their next raid but the Marshal arrests them for the wagon train murders.

Thad Lawson arrives in Oak Valley to avenge the murder of his brother, the local sheriff. He learns that Jack Rand, powerful overlord of the town is to blame. After Rand murders newspaper publisher Jordan Webster, Thad sets out to put him behind bars.

Karsin and Lash are after the Kenyon and Rawlins ranches where they have spotted silver ore. When Lash robs Rawlins and kills Kenyon, Jeff suspects them and makes a plan to nab the two. He sells the ranch to Karsin and as suspected, Karsin pays with the stolen bills. But Lash is suspicious of his partner and arrivers to re-take the money by force and flee.

The town of Gun Sight, overrun by an outlaw gang led by Powder Kilgore, is stalemated in its attempt to check Kilgore's raids because the county sheriffs are restricted from crossing county lines.

When Matt Kilgore and his men frame and then hang an innocent man, Lige Saunders sends for his son Wild Bill who arrives to find his father shot by Matt's brother. When the brother is killed in his fight with Bill, Matt sends two fake Deputies to arrest Bill whom he then plans to hang. But Matt's sister, attracted to Bill, overhears the plan and rides for help.

The Kinkaids and the Harpers both run stage lines and are friendly competitors. Appleby is after the stage line and convinces the two owners to build a spur line to the same town. Then he has both projects sabotaged pitting the friends against each other and running them out of money.

Crenshaw and Randolph are competing freight haulers and Randolph's lead man Tom Baxter has given him an advantage. A big hauling contract is coming up that requires a large deposit. Crenshaw has Randolph killed and the banker, who is actually Crenshaw's boss, then refuses to lend the money for the deposit to the new owner, Randolph's daughter.

A cowboy heads for the town where his father was murdered to find out who was responsible.

Judge Ezra Barnes, crooked-lawyer Clint Ranier and saloon-owner Flash Hollister control the town of Hangtown Mesa. The completion of the Rocky Mountain Telegraph Company will loosen and break their hold and they send for the Utah Kid to work for them against the telegraph company. On the way, the wanted Utah Kid encounters Steve Collins, an engineer heading for the company camp, and forces him to change clothes with him. Steve arrives in Hangtown and is mistaken for the Kid and jailed. The Judge also believes he is the man he sent for and has him released, and sent to the camp to work under Bert Lawler, company foreman who is actually working for the Judge and his gang. Playing along with them, Steve finds that the Kid has already been there, robbed the company safe and killed John Wilkins, uncle of Betty. Steve takes over the work and much to the surprise of Lawler, who still thinks he is the Utah Kid, manages to keep the work on the line progressing, aided by the traveling combination doctor/clothes salesman J. Wallington Dingle. In desperation, the gang tries a sneak attack on the camp.

Marshal Calem Ware (Randolph Scott) must face unpleasant facts about his past when he attempts to run a criminal gang out of town.

Sheriff Halliday doesn't approve of his children dating or marrying half-breeds and his blind hate threatens to alienate his whole family.

A Swedish whaler is out for revenge when he finds out that a greedy oil man murdered his father for their land.

When the stagecoach breaks down in North Fork an Italian Count, Alfredo di Montova, has to spend the night at the hotel. His fancy dress and accented English makes him a target for town bully Sim Groder and his little crowd. The Count is a calm and collected type but when Groder pushes him too far, he challenges him to a duel. With Lucas acting as his second, di Montova teaches the bully a lesson.

A Texas gunslinger is hired to protect the bank of North Fork. When he appears at the McCain Ranch, he doesn't leave a very good impression with Lucas, and for good reason - he has a secret. Mark is proud when he sells his first pig.

An outlaw gang kidnaps Micah and threatens to kill him unless their leader is released from jail. Lucas must decide whether to turn loose the notorious killer or face the possibility of the murder of his friend Micah.

A wagon train master forces a young couple to marry after they hide the fact that one is a girl, and Lucas takes them in to help them; but trouble soon arises when a drunken crowd calls for a Shivaree.

Lucas McCain is surprised when someone he once worked with, Sam Morley, shows up at the ranch. Lucas thought Morley had died but it turns out he's a wanted man and wants Lucas to do him a favor: turn him in for the $500 reward money that's available. Morley desperately needs the money so his girlfriend, Beth Landis, can get treatment for a serious disease. Lucas thinks he's on the level and decides to go along. Unfortunately another cowpoke who once worked with them, Hamp Ferris, rides into town and is looking to collect the bounty on Morley himself.

Lucas takes in an orphaned young boy, and one of the things he teaches the boy is how to use a gun. What Lucas doesn't know, however, is that the boy wants to learn how to use a gun so he can kill the banker he holds responsible for his father's death.

Lucas helps a man after he's shot in a shootout by a man who wants to keep a secret about his past. When he allows Mark to take in a pet, he doesn't know that his decision will endanger his son's life.

Dan Maury, a criminal arrested by Micah Torrance, returns from five years in prison determined to avenge himself upon the town marshal.
