Ma n what a twist ending! This is the way that film should have been filmed. With Mel being the grown up 'Edward'. Gibson has the intensity to look like he is crazed and that no one would believe him in the present day.And that no one would believe him that something fell from the sky so many years ago and his father buried it and kept it hushed all these years. It would have been a fantastic story line and film for Gibson. And as the father I would have had Michael Rooker. In fact, I thought it was Rooker when I saw this film! This actor Henry Nixon has the same creepy look and intensity of a young Rooker. I hope these two actors work one day together because they look so alike.
This little short film really had me at the edge of my seat in suspense. And the fact that they used the same farm that was used in the Superman movie made it very unique. A real 1950's/60's look and feel about it. Especially with 'Alien' paranoia at the time.And you can't really tell it's Australia at all passing for the Midwest.
All in all I look forward to seeing more of Josh Tanner's work. I would go watch his film at the theater in a heartbeat! This short little film at 7mins, had more human element then all of a Walking Dead season!
Tis short flies by really quickly. If anything, it starts out on a high note, and only gains in traction. It gets increasingly devastating as it goes. While you won't realize immediately "what is going on"(what the man is actually doing and why), once you do, it's a fantastic idea, and you cheer in an earnest way that few current productions inspire. The two men watch as Aphex performs a huge dance (involving champagne and a very messed up female version of Richard) in front of them.Hoochie: Keep rolling! You ain't got nothing to offer me but your broke ass. And take your momma's car home, *beep*

This is the footage from Andy's last days.With this "found" tape footage , we can finally see how Andy last days really fared out. As he was slowly starving and losing his sanity and grip on reality during the zombie apocalypse.
I'm so glad this was included in the "Dawn of the Dead" (2004) DVD Special Features. Because I always wondered how Andy was holding out at the gun shop. I had no idea how bad it was for him over there all alone. I thought he had ample food and drink but it was not till he wrote "Hungry" to Kenneth (Ving Rhames) that it became apparent how desperate the situation truly was for poor Andy.
Excellent short film and kudos to actor Bruce Bohne in his incredible performance of the character Andy.
During the tape's end credits there is a special thanks to Max Brooks.
