Whether or not Sandeep aka Javed succeeds in the mission forms the climax of the movie.

Anne (Madhavi) works as a typist in Daniel's (Mohanlal) office and he has an eye on her. She is often followed by Tony (Mammootty), a wealthy businessman and he confesses his love for her. Finally Tony marries Anne which irks Daniel. Soon Anne finds out that Tony was actually cheating her as he is a conman. Tony explains to her why he became a conman and his past struggling life. During his early days in prison, he writes a letter to Thulasi asking her to forget him. When his prison term was about to complete, he wrote a letter to her to light a lamp if she still waits for him. After long years of torment in the prison he goes to meet Thulasi. Does she still wait for him? That's the question of his fellow passengers too.
