2012: My favorite Russian movies
Top 3 of 47 Russian films in 2012: The amazing film "Short Stories" by Mikhail Segal, the film "Celestial Wives of the Meadow Mari" by the main Russian poet Aleksei Fedorchenko and the tense drama "The Convoy" by Aleksei Mizgirev. Best action - "August.Eighth" by Djanik Faiziyev. Best historical film - "The Horde" by Andrei Proshkin. Best Musical - "The Doctor" by Vladimir Pankov. Separately, I will mention the underground parody comedy "Star Pile", where many Russian rock stars starred. Also worth noting is the last film 'Me Too" by the great Russian director Aleksey Balabanov, who died suddenly in May 2013. Best Comedy - German-Russian film - "Lost in Siberia" by Ralf Huettner. Best Crime - "For Marx.." (budget - $3000!) by Svetlana Baskova. The most popular Russian film of 2012 - "Three Heroes on Distant Shores" (Gross: $31,51M!).
