Situations change Badal and he decides to reveal his true identity to the Singhs who also promises to re-unite the family with their son, Chimpoo.

Rana breaks out of prison and confronts Thakur, who tells him that both his wife and son are dead. When Rana demands 25000 Rupees, Mrs. Thakur summons the police, who arrive, arrest him, and take him back to complete his sentence. Years later Preetam and Anil have grown up like brothers. Preetam's marriage is being finalized with Sharan, the daughter of Rukmani and Judge B.N. Sinha, while Anil wants to get married to his sweetheart, Sarita. The engagement of the couples takes place, and shortly thereafter the Thakurs gets the news that Anil has been killed in an automobile accident. Sarita comes forward and admits that she is pregnant with Anil's child, forcing the Thakurs to compel Preetam to get married to Sarita in order to protect the family's name. What Preetam and the Thakurs do not know is that Sarita is not really pregnant, in fact, she is not who she claims to be, but is a close associate of Rana, who is now out of prison, and is hellbent to destroy the Thakur family once and for all. Watch how Sarita sets about to fulfill her agenda which is set amidst hilarious antics of Safachat and his attempts to wed Gauri.

Sujit started having mental problems when he was six years after visiting his dad, Ajit, at a mental asylum. Thereafter he kept on getting into trouble, and even ran away from the orphanage. Years later a Musician and Singer, Shyam, found Sujit singing on the roadside, and decided to hire him as a singer in a nightclub. This is where Sujit meets dancer, Jenny, and both fall in love with each other. When they announce their plans to get married, the news does not auger well with the nightclub's owner, Max, an argument ensues, Max draws a gun, and Shyam ends up killing Max. Sujit decides to take the blame, is arrested by the police, he feigns insanity, and is ordered to be admitted in a mental asylum until he recovers. In the asylum he is placed under the compassionate care of Dr. Shalini and about one year later is discharged. He returns to the nightclub just in time to for Jenny's and Shyam's engagement party. Baffled, confused, and angered at this betrayal, he really does go insane and ends up being re-admitted in the very same asylum. But this time his chances of recovery are very slim as he has retreated deep into the inner recesses of his mind - from where he may never return.

Ashok and Kishore (Shammi Kapoor and Sanjeev Kumar respectively) are two room-mates, living in a hostel. While Ashok takes to crime and dishonesty, Kishore is honest to a fault. When Kishore finds that his dad (Rajan Mehra) has been taking bribes, he leaves home angrily. Ashok and he disagree on a number of issues, mainly involving honesty, and both agree to meet each other after a period of three years, and see what life has had an effect for them. Kishore gets into bad company inadvertently, and is unable to free himself, and gets deeper and deeper into crime. While Ashok realizes it is not worthwhile to pursue a criminal career, and becomes a police inspector. Kishore is now known as the notorious Baghi Sitara, and Ashok is assigned the task of apprehending him. The two do not know who the other is. Kishore comes to know of this assignment and his men kidnap Ashok, but Ashok manages to escape. Kishore must kill Ashok in order to carry out his nefarious activities. After three years the two have an emotional meeting, delighted to see other. What will be the outcome when they come to know that they each other's mortal enemies?

After being left brokenhearted several times, wealthy, beautiful Deepa travels to City of Love Paris to live in her palatial house and meets Shyam (Sam), an Indian who is fascinated by her beauty. Shekar is a spoiled brat of her secretary Damodar, known for his bad habits of gambling and womanizing; he is in debt to local don Jack and tries to woo Deepa and convince her to marry him. Sam always gets in Shekar's way and spoils his plans; after a few misunderstandings, Deepa and Sam fall in love. Jack warns Shekar to pay his debts soon or face the brunt but Shekar's plans go for naught when he discovers that Deepa loves Sam. To Jack's surprise, Deepa is a lookalike of Suzy, a cabaret dancer in his club. When Shekar meets Suzy, he plots with her to replace Suzy with Deepa to clear his debts. But on the very first instance Sam gets suspicious that she is not the real Deepa.

A woodcutter, Jangu lives a poor lifestyle in Kashmir along with his widowed mother, who fears that he is going to die soon after Dassera. She keeps on praying for his well-being and safety, and cautions him to be careful all the time. But Jangu does quite the opposite, gets into fights, even kills a man-eating tiger, and romances his employer's daughter, Nikki, after risking his life and rescuing her twice. Nikki too falls in love with him, much to the chagrin of her estate Manager, Prem, who is the choice of her wheelchair-bound dad. Circumstances will compel Jangu's mother to change her mind about his long life and safety, and she not only curse but also viciously assault, and wish him dead.

Shanta (Sadhana) is wealthy Rajbahadur Murthy Sagar's vivacious and uppity, orphan granddaughter. Her character is developed as pretty, haughty, aware of herself and contemptuous of servants. Shyam (Shammi Kapoor) and Shanta have a couple of tempestuous meetings. Shyam, who hails from Allahabad is educated and cares about the wellbeing of his widowed step-mother and wheel chair-bound step-sister Bina. Employed by the Rajbahadur as Manager of his household, Shyam has many opportunities to court Shanta, and he does so with a succession of songs and in style. Shanta however is a misandrist (a woman who hates men) as a result of her traumatic childhood. Rita (Laxmi Chhaya) who has been brought in by the Rajbahadur to help Shanta mend her unmannerly ways has given up and admits defeat. Taming the shrew is a challenge that only Shyam can take up. But how will he deal with a woman who believes in "fall from a hilltop, fall from above, fall from anywhere, but never fall in love"? She even writes up a placard "Men are beasts". Shanta's ego is further stoked by Devdass who serenades her in Scottish attire playing a bagpipe. A road trip in a rare right hand drive open top Buick to a hill station (Khandala) in the Western Ghats is a turning point in Shanta's behaviour. Retired Colonel Jung Bahadur provides a couple of comic interludes and is pivotal as the plot unfolds.

After completion of his higher education Ashok returns to India to stay with his widowed father. He falls in love with Kavita who after a few altercations falls for him too. They are set to get married now. Ashok goes to attend one of his friends' marriage with a girl, Sheila. But groom's father stops marriage rituals abruptly sighting the reason that Sheila is a pervert, and goes back. Ashok marries Shiela to help Shiela's parents save face. Ashok's marriage does not go down well with Kavita and Ashok's father but now Ashok cannot disown his legally married wife. Kavita now does not want to marry but her sister & brother in law asks Ashok to pursue Kavita to marry another boy they have chosen for her. Upon Ashok's insistence, Kavita agrees but asks Ashok to attend her marriage. Ashok comes to attend marriage with Shiela. The groom comes out to be Chander, who was responsible for getting Sheila declared a pervert and deceived her. Ashok tries to stop Kavita's marriage with this crook. Chander attacks Ashok with a knife but Sheila takes the knife on her body. Chander abducts Kavita and runs away. Ashok saves Kavita. On a hospital bed, Sheila asks Ashok to marry Kavita and dies.

Going incognito, Bharat Pratap emerges as Bharat Ram, and displays his true character. Can Princess Sangeeta (Sadhna) forgive Rajkumar who she believes killed her father? How can she reconcile her love for Bharat Ram, the common man, with her hatred for the Royal Bhanu Singh-alleged murderer of her father? This is a complex story of Royalty in India, in the post Independence (from the British) era, before democracy took root. It is a story of love, Indian values and to some extent superstitions and the conflict between values, superstition and modern views of the world they lived in.

Mohan and Mohini are in love with each other, and would like to get married. Mohini's dad owes considerable money to Saigal, and is unable to repay this amount, even in instalments. Saigal proposes to Mohini to marry him, and he will forgive this loan, and the subsequent humiliation. Mohini asks Mohan to try and make arrangements for this amount, and Mohan agrees to do so. He sells all his possessions, and is able to accumulate enough to meet this loan amount. However, when he takes the money to Mohini, he finds out that she is in the process of getting married to Saigal, and will have nothing to do with him.

Rajesh (Shammi Kapoor) is the son of a rich father, Kuver Saheb (Prithviraj Kapoor). Rajesh falls in love with Savita (Saroja Devi) a daughter of a teacher Ramdas (Nazir Hussain), who Rajesh got sacked and humiliated when he was younger. Savita gets Rajesh to study harder in college instead of being a layabout and he comes 1st in the whole college and wins a gold medal. Kuvar Saheb is not happy with his son`s love affair and refuses to accept their love. But Rajesh gets married with Savita without his fathers permission and comes home. Rajesh's father Kuvar Saheb does not greet them or accept them and he consequently insults Savita. Not happy with that, Rajesh leaves home and they start living at Jivan`s house (Pran), who one of his friends. Jivan starts poisoning Rajesh's mind against Savita because Savita humiliated and slapped Jivan when he tried to woo her in college. Big misunderstandings start creeping into their relationship. Not long after the couple separate due to these misunderstanding that have been caused between them. After a while Jivan`s friend (Helen) starts feeling guilty of the misunderstandings that have been caused and brings out the truth to Rajesh he feels guilty for his mistake. Will Rajesh get his wife back? Will his father accept them? All time great singer M. Rafi`s voice adds to this good film.

It is based on the life of Bhagat Singh. The music was composed by Prem Dhawan, with several songs being penned by freedom fighter Ram Prasad Bismil.
