Julius is out for a ride on his horse; he does some rope tricks. Some bad guys rob a stagecoach; one of the passengers is Alice, who finds herself stuck between the head bad guy and a cactus. Julius rides in and saves most of the passengers, but the bad guy rides off with Alice. After a short chase, he ends up battling Julius on top of a tall rock outcropping. A piece eventually breaks off, sending both of them into a boulder field. They play hide-and-seek a while. Julius then takes off his fur and sends it out as a decoy while he sneaks up behind the bad guy with a club and beats him into the ground. Alice comes up to thank him; ashamed by his nakedness, he hides behind a rock and puts his fur back on, then accepts her thanks.

Buddy races the other townsfolk to win a job as a Pony Express rider.

Bandit Denver Dooley travels to a lawless western town where he notices a sign, "No Bandits Allowed. Signed, Marshall Woody Woodpecker". Dooley pays no heed to the sign and confronts a Mexican who claims to know about the bird but in the end, just says, "I don't know him, Senor!" Dooley causes trouble at a bar and marshall Woody steps in. Dooley demands a showdown which Woody keeps besting him at. Dooley chases after the redhead asking the Mexican for directions (The Mexican again says, "I don't know him, Senor!"). After a few more chase gags, Dooley again encounters the Mexican and asks for directions. At this point, the Mexican reveals himself to have been Marshall Woody all along and arrests Dooley (still saying, "I don't know him, Senor!").

A narrator tells us that in the days of the Old West, times were tough. With no law and order, bandits roamed around free to commit any crime with western outlaw, "Pretty Boy" McCoy being the worst of the bunch. Fortunately, a famous detective, Inspector Willoughby, is called in at last to capture McCoy. He arrives in Doughnut Center ("What a hole!" says the Inspector) and finds McCoy playing cards in a bar. McCoy sends the pest on his way but Willoughby keeps returning using a variety of schemes to capture the outlaw culminating with McCoy locking the Inspector in a safe throwing a lit keg of dynamite inside. But the Inspector escapes and the criminal finds himself chained to the dynamite-filled safe! After some unsuccessful attempts to get rid of the safe, McCoy admits defeat and Willoughby arrests him. But on the way to jail, the narrator reminds him, "What about that dynamite?" The safe explodes and the battered Inspector chastises the narrator, "You and your big, fat mouth!"

Jerry is a cheese rustler in the old west and Tom gets deputized to bring him to justice.

Woody gets a dog from a pet shop. Miss Meany tells him to get rid of it.

Cool Cat, a hipster feline, drives in his dune buggy across the U.S. Southwestern desert and encounters a wacky Indian tribe.
