10 good german indie genre movies

A street sweeper who cleans up after grisly accidents brings home a full corpse for him and his wife to enjoy sexually, but is dismayed to see that his wife prefers the corpse over him.

In the 70s Matteusz Gdula invented an acting method that was supposed to make every actor "shine". Still, lots of his students die mysteriously and Gdula commits suicide. His method gets banned. Now: Stella, an ambitious, but rather untalented drama student, gets accepted at the "Matteusz Gdula"-school. When she bears witness to some strange occurrences, she gets drawn into the bizarre and deadly web that surrounds the dark secret of the school...

The life of unemployed Mario (Yannick Hehlgans) is largely unspectacular - until strange things happen. Where do his lighters disappear ? Was not yesterday still freshly washed underwear in the drawer? Annoying, but no reason for excitement - Until the TV dissolves overnight. Mario asks parapsychologist Dr. Justus Preuss (Sebastian Badenberg) for help who discovers a dark secret in Mario's past.

Der Konig der Kannibalen (aka King of the Cannibals or Cannibal Messiah) is a slapstick, goofball splatter film written by Master W and co-directed by Master W and Crippler Criss (see also the segment entitled "The Secret of the Magic Mushrooms" in Troma's Mutantz, Nazis, and Zombies collection). It would appear that together these filmmakers go by the name of P.S.Y.C.H.O. Productions (you can't help but notice that half the cast is wearing that company's t-shirt). I wouldn't have thought that a low budget comedy about cannibals that runs close to 120 minutes would be something I'd enjoy, but it turns out I was very wrong.
