31 Days of Horror 2024

5/10 - Missed opportunity with some bad pacing. Liked the concept and the 80's setting, but that's about it. Doesn't actually look or feel 80's and barely anything happens for the first hour.

LOW 7/10 - Predictable and a bit dialogue-heavy at times, but still liked the movie overall. Especially liked the unconventional way the story was told.

5/10 - Liked some of the ideas it had, but aside from that, the movie was full of generic scares, predictability, and a silly third act.

LOW 6/10 - Amusing vampire comedy that kind of runs out of steam in the mid-mark, but picks up again in the third act.

LOW 4/10 - Adam Baldin must've owed someone money or something, because he's the only thing good in this otherwise terrible movie.

6/10 - Pretty simple story. Good pacing, with some nice blood and violence. Short and to the point. Surprisingly decent overall.

5/10 - Early 90's erotic horror starring a young Drew Barrymore that turns into a bizarre body horror flick by the end. If the rest of the movie was an crazy as the climax then I might've enjoyed it more.

5/10 - A chef goes crazy. Also, there's minor witch stuff going on. That's about it.

4/10 - Some good gore and deaths and I liked the killer and his bigass weapon, but that's about it. The rest of the movie is trash.

6/10 - Some good blood and gore. Like the story, despite it being nothing new. Decent watch overall.

6/10 - A little longer than it needed to be and was more drama than horror, but it was an interesting watch nonetheless.

5/10 - Like some ideas it offers, but it's ultimately jus a generic movie, with generic scares and a generic story.

6/10 - Light on horror and didn't care for the first hour much (just found a lot of the characters obnoxious), but really picks up in the third act. Interesting body swap movie and a decent watch overall.

LOW 5/10 - Slow, too much dialogue, long, and boring. Not enough werewolf action and the werewolf looked pretty bad.

5/10 - This vampire "comedy" forgot the comedy part. It's more about a vampire family drama than anything. Bad pacing to top it off. At least the acting was decent.

4/10 - Like the concept and some of the cheap practical gore was decent, but outside of that it's not good.

5/10 - Can't get much more generic than this.

6/10 - Not familiar with the Onyx character, which I guess is based on some viral video. Anyway, didn't care for him much, just seemed too animated and yelled all his diolugue for some reason. It was also a little longer than necessary. Rest of the movie is decent though, with some amusing bits and cool practical effects.

LOW 7/10 - More drama-romance than horror, but it does have just enough blood and violence to fall into the genre. Good performances all around. Interesting story. Just a wee bit too long.

5/10 - Pacing is decent and so is some of the gore, but the rest is the same old with unlikable characters.

6/10 - Like the concept and there being no dialogue, but the whole movie is basically get captured, escape, get captured again, escape again, rinse and repeat. Next to that, the pacing is solid and there's some good blood and gore, so it's a decent watch overall.

5/10 - Takes a bit to get going, but pretty interesting when it does. Some decent-looking gore in parts. Story was alright. Characters were mostly unlikable. Semi-decent movie overall.

4/10 - Pretty standard bad 80's Italian rock-horror.

LOW 7/10 - I liked it. Not as much as the first two, but it's definitely an improvement over the last one. Some iffy CG at times, but luckily they kept things mostly practical. Also liked the darker tone and the contained storyline. Could've used a bit more action, but it's not a major complaint since it was never boring. Jack Kesy wasn't bad as the new Hellboy either. Overall I enjoyed it.
