Andy has problems raising the last payment for a used car and juggling three pretty girls with an upcoming country club dance scheduled.

Judge Hardy and family travel to Detroit to claim an inheritance where they experience life as millionaires and learn the cost of riding high.

Young Andy develops a crush on his drama teacher. Meanwhile, Judge Hardy has his own problems after he gets conned into forming a phony aluminum corporation.

Judge Hardy takes his family to New York City, where Andy quickly falls in love with a socialite. However, he finds the high society life too expensive and eventually decides that he liked it better back home.

Andy is all set to graduate from high school when he flunks his English exam--despite the fact that the Judge went through the trouble of getting him his very own private secretary.

Hoping his son will attend his alma mater, Judge Hardy agrees to let Andy look for work in New York for the summer before committing to start college. In the big city, Andy is confronted with the harsh realities of life and love.

While Judge Hardy handles a couple's divorce, Andy takes a shine to their shy daughter.
