A bank robbery goes down on a peaceful Monday morning. A foolishly brave customer rips the mask off from one of the robbers, and is shot right after. Derrick recognizes the shooter from the surveillance tape.

They plan for a future together unaware that the detective is following them. After Hufland's body is found at a phone booth, Derrick and Harry Klein are left puzzling as to who shot the detective. Then, when the detective's secretary is also found shot, with no evidence of the perpetrators, it is obvious to the police that these are the doings of professional criminals. Has Dr. Soest's work got something to do with the killings?

A man is severely injured in a car accident, and rushed to the hospital. He asks to see a priest. When the priest comes, the dying man gives him a special task to perform. Despite the late hour, he has to make a call and go to meet someone.
