An adaptation of a best-selling novel by Michal Viewegh is a comedy about friendship, fateful loves, beauty and ugliness, alcohol, and the search for human happiness. A tragicomic story of three siblings whose lives changed dramatically after losing their parents during the Communist regime. Thus appears the successful life of Erica Oskarová, the star of the program 'Before and After'. Erica has almost everything - her own TV program, a renowned hairdressing salon, a large flat with a terrace, and freedom. But with each year that goes past she yearns more and more for the one thing she does not have - a child. And that is how our film starts...

Slovak immigrant Eliska, on the other hand, has a great boyfriend, unbearable parents, is pregnant and is sick of everything.

The time-tested poem, more than a century old, transposed into a stirring story of undying love and passion. The story takes place in an unspecified, distant past, but the young heroes are more or less contemporary characters.
