"Theater at Home" was a classic Yugoslavian TV sitcom that ran for five seasons from 1972 till 1984. It was a story about the working-class Petrovic family. Patriarch Rodoljub is a lawyer from the small village of Przogrnci. His wife Olga is an architect and they have a son, Borko. Their maid Tina poses as their relative for tax reasons. The most memorable characters are the old-school mother-in-law Snezana and her friend Vasa S. Tajcic, who has a huge imagination but is disliked by the rest of the family. Other characters include landlord Ceda Mungos, his cheating wife Rajka, Rodoljub's co-worker Taja, and Rodoljub's mother Vuka from Przogrnci.

Luka is a somewhat eccentric engineer who builds a tunnel between the Balkans and the rest of the world. Luka's wife is Jadranka, a singer suffering from illness. Their son Milos dreams of being a football player but he hasn't enough talent. The strange family gradually breaks up: the wife runs, the son is taken away by the army, the father goes deep into a tunnel binding different cultures further and further. Can the difficult father/son conflict be resolved? Will the father's new woman become an obstacle in his relationship with his son? Will love win against society's established barriers?

As the "Top lista nadrealista" criticized the weaknesses of the communist system, "Nadrealna televizija" draws attention to its successor, capitalism. Characters tries to deal with numerous society issues, such as corruption, nationalism, stereotypes and other, which are presented in a sarcastic way.
