Basically this is a commercial for Hollywood's Lido Lounge and for MGM contract players. The Lido is a large watering hole; we visit one afternoon with an orchestra playing, all sorts of stars and would-be stars sitting at tables near the pool alongside paying customers, and bathing beauties parading and diving. The Lido's manager, Reggy Denny, introduces the stars in the audience. He's sometimes interrupted by someone who does a bit, sings a song, or otherwise entertains: most of these are novelty acts. By the end, everyone's having a swell time.

The stooges are tricked out of their inheritance by Icabod Slipp, a crooked lawyer. The boys follow Slipp onto a passenger train and corner him, but not before they accidentally let a lion loose on the train.

The Town of Banff is located in one of the most picturesque settings of the Canadian Rockies. The towering surrounding mountains dwarf the already small town. Driving down Main Street in town, one looks as if he is driving straight into Cascade Mountain. There are over six hundred peaks in the Canadian Rockies, one of the most beautiful being Mount Rundle. Another set is the Ten Peaks Range, each being over 10,000 feet tall. The range overlooks Lake Moraine, called the Pearl of the Rockies. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are seen riding through the back woods on horseback with their distinctive red jackets. The highway from Banff to Lake Louise is an old Indian trail, as are many of the area's roads. The lake itself is considered by many to be the most beautiful setting in the world of its kind. The Chateau Lake Louise is the hotel for many who visit the area. Next door to the hotel is a famous outdoor swimming pool, the glass walls around which protect the swimmers from prevailing winds, but provide spectacular views of the mountains while swimming.

This travelogue is about Ontario, the second largest province of Canada. Despite only a small fraction of its land being used for that purpose, it contains the most important agricultural land in Canada. Important agricultural activities include the growing of grains, such as wheat, and the raising of dairy cattle. Toronto is the province's largest city, sitting on the shores of Lake Ontario. After the War of 1812, the Rideau Canal was built connecting the Ottawa River to Lake Ontario, bypassing the international border crossing at Cornwall, where American enemies of the time could attack. The canal figures prominently in the geography and history of the City of Ottawa, the capital of Canada. Many of the government buildings there, including the Parliament Building, are among the most important gothic structures in the world.

In this Traveltalk look at Canada's province of Nova Scotia, we visit several coastal communities. The first stop is Lunenburg, where deep sea fishing and shipbuilding are the main industries. Other stops include Blue Rocks, where lobstering is an important source of income, and Peggy's Cove, known for its artist community. Here we meet artist Earl Bailly, who contracted polio at the age of 3 and learned to paint by holding the brush between his teeth.

This Traveltalks entry begins aboard the RMS Scythia as it exits Halifax Harbor. The Scythia is an ocean liner that was converted to a troop transport during World War II; in 1940 it carried children from Liverpool to New York as part of an evacuation program set up by the Children's Overseas Reception Board. The present voyage is among the first to carry civilian passengers from North America to the British Isles following the end of the war. Among the passengers are 150 child evacuees, who have spent several years growing up in Canada or the USA. Narrator FitzPatrick can be seen on the deck of the ship conversing with a female passenger. At Liverpool the evacuee children disembark, and FitzPatrick and his party change ships for the voyage across the Irish Sea to Northern Ireland's capital city. We arrive at the port of Belfast, one of the busiest in the British Isles. We then see the city hall, the downtown area, the city's botanical garden, and the parliament building outside the city proper. Fortuitously, three members of the British royal family make a "victory visit" to Belfast to thank the people of the city for their efforts during the war. The last four minutes of this travelogue document activities of King George VI, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother (then Queen Elizabeth), and Queen Elizabeth II (then Princess Elizabeth) during their stay.

This Traveltalks series entry visits several locations in the Lake Country of northern England. The first stop is Lake Windermere, the largest lake in England. Hawkshead, the second stop, is known for its connection to poet 'William Wordsworth', who is buried there. Next is a vacation resort on the shore of Morecambe Bay. The final destination is the ancient city of York, where we see the ruins of St. Mary's Abbey.
