Charley Chase

Charley has several dilemmas facing him at Christmas, all posed by his greedy, heartless landlord Noah and his family. He wants to get an expensive wristwatch for his wife, but his landlord takes it, then his other presents are switched with Noah's, and then he and Noan battle back and forth for a long white beard for their Santa Claus costumes.

Charley impersonates his double, a man named Bud Martin, unaware that he's a wanted criminal.

Charley's mother married a count to get her son a title. MacIntosh's social-climbing wife gets him as a dinner guest. MacIntosh hires goons to put him out of action, but Charley fends them off, impressing MacIntosh's comely daughter.

An ex-girlfriend moves into the apartment across the hall from her ex-boyfriend. Both are married now, and their jealous spouses force them both to move. That should solve their problems, right?

Ignoring her father's attempts to counsel her, a young woman races off to a sale at a store. Chased by a motorcycle policeman, she eventually wins him over with the help of a friendly millionaire. Meanwhile, her father desperately needs to retrieve a compromising letter that he once wrote, and he will need help to do it.

Charley and Edna are feeling very pleased with themselves and their new car. They decide to share their good fortune and offer to take six underprivileged children out for a fun day at the carnival. Unfortunately, the children come from Juvenile Hall, and each one is more trouble than the last.

For his birthday, Chase gets a cigarette lighter, but it won't light. He works on it with ill-suited tools as his family all advise. Finally, he unwisely fuels it with gasoline, which gets it lit--but soon, so is his house.

Charley tries to muster enough courage to take an airplane ride, then ends up with the flight of his life.

A misunderstanding means that Charley's boss Palette visits with the woman from the flapjack stand being taken for Charley's wife.

Julius (Jimmy Finlayson) loses his wife to Rudy (Tyler Brooke) because he's too busy going on hunting trips. But when she arranges to meet with a fortune teller, Julius hatches a plan to win her back.
