The film moves around two old school friends, Jeet (Parambrata Chattopadhyay) and Raj (Rudranil Ghosh) who coincidentally came across each after a quite a while. While Jeet, a associate in a big designer company, which he got from his dead father-in-law; Raj is a having difficulties musician in a group. Jeet and Raj was welcomed to a celebration of a non-Bengali business customer of Jeet, where Raj flirted with the businessman's daughter Inka (Neha Panda). After celebration, both the buddies purchased beverages from shut stores and consumed in the start. Both of them desired they had each other lifestyle. In the meantime, Raj (in Jeet's body) frequented Chandannagar, his area to fulfill his mother and dad, which he remaining years ago to make a profession in performing. Even, Jeet (in Raj's body) came to check out his house to see his kid. Inka came to remain with Raj (actually Jeet's soul) after she had a battle with her mother and dad. Both the buddies tried to handle each other people's work. While, Raj provided an exciting remedy of using clay in bathing room instead of silver dishes to the Indonesian customers. Jeet, however presented Inka as a cause musician in their group, whose performance was well valued. The two buddies, made the decision to get returning to each other people's lifestyle, they recurring the same functions they did on the day they interchanged and were effective in getting returning their spirits in their own whole body.

The rich family has a mentally-distorted sister they keep locked up in a room; the brother, the head of the family, can't deny his wife's decision. His daughter (Shaon) falls in love with a meritorious (Mahfuz), who turns out to be the grandson of a beggar, who through hardship had raised his grandson after his son and daughter-in-law died. One day the mysterious man walks away and is never seen again.

A story of poverty and hunger.

After the partition of India in 1947, Shashikanta's family, like millions of other Hindu families of East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), faced the dilemma of whether to migrate from the land in which they have been living for centuries. But Shashikanta Sengupta, an eccentric lawyer, stubbornly refuses to leave his motherland. Widower Shashikanta has two children, Minoti and Bidyut. Anuprava Devi is an affectionate old aunt who lives with the family. The family has a house in Narail, a small provincial town on the bank of the Chitra river. Some Muslim neighbors eye Shashaikanta's house. But the family refuse to migrate. Shashikanta's children Minoti and Bidyut are friends with the neighboring Muslim children- Badal, Salma and Nazma. Minoti and Badal become more than friends. The children grow up. Badal goes to Dhaka University. Those were the days in 1960's when the atmosphere of the universities was charged with political radicalism. Badal got involved in anti-military student movement and while participating in a demonstration for democracy was killed by police firing.Shashikanta's brother Nidhukanta is an idealist doctor who lives in their ancestral village on the other side of the Chitra River. During the 1964 riot between the Hindus and the Muslims, his daughter Basanti, a widow, is raped. Basanti commits suicide by drowning herself in the Chitra River. Nidhukanta's family migrate to India. All these untoward incidents happening around affect Shashikanta's failing health. He suffers a heart stroke and passes away. Minoti and Anuprava finally leave for the border en route to Calcutta.
