- CreatorRebecca SonnenshineStarsMamoudou AthieDina ShihabiEvan JonigkeitAn archivist hired to restore a collection of tapes finds himself reconstructing the work of a filmmaker and her investigation into a dangerous cult.A lot of good ideas poorly executed. The first episode had promise, then it just got more and more boring, episode 6 was actually quite good, but then the last two episodes squandered all that. I found my mind drifting several times during each episode. Also, the main character had all of two facial expressions.
- CreatorJon FavreauStarsTemuera MorrisonMing-Na WenFrank TriggBounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigate the underworld when they return to Tatooine to claim Jabba the Hutt's old turf.Started out fine and then it came crashing down. It was a bore, it dragged, "action" scenes were badly choreographed, and after episode 4 it basically becomes The Mandalorian season 2.5.
No excitement, no stakes, nothing interesting. Poor Ming-Na Wen. - DirectorDarren Lynn BousmanStarsChris RockSamuel L. JacksonMax MinghellaIn this new chapter from the Book of Saw, a detective and his partner investigate grisly murders that are eerily reminiscent of the past. What an absolute heap of steaming crap. No tension, no surprises, stupid ending, and Chris Rock was effing annoying. Oh, and regarding "eff", I can use swear words with the best of them, but it was said sooooo many times in this movie it seemed like a 12 year old wrote it.
- DirectorsSeverin FialaVeronika FranzStarsRiley KeoughJaeden MartellLia McHughA soon-to-be stepmom is snowed in with her fiancé's two children at a remote holiday village. Just as relations begin to thaw between the trio, some strange and frightening events take place.Started out very good, first half had an interesting story, good acting, and a few, nice twists, but by the midpoint it seemed as if the writers hadn't quite figured out how to get to the point they wanted to make, so they just threw a lot of stuff at us till it was time to wrap it up.
- DirectorVernon SewellStarsDermot WalshHazel CourtHugh BurdenA luxury ship is haunted by the ghosts of a crew that had disappeared off the ship years before.Boring and rather stupid, and though only 75 minutes long, they managed to ram in lots of filler.
- DirectorsDerek DrymonJennifer KluskaStarsAndy SambergSelena GomezKathryn HahnAfter one experiment, Johnny turns into a monster and everyone else becomes human. Now it has to be seen whether they will be able to reverse this experiment.Should have stopped with number 2.
- StarsMitch HorowitzPhil Nobile Jr.Ryan TurekCursed Films is a five part documentary series which explores the myths and legends behind some of Hollywood's notoriously cursed horror film productions.Rather uninspired. It only touches on all the stories we have heard a gazillion times before, and features weird "spiritual" people that may or may not be genuine, or not good actors.
Half the episode about The Exorcist barely touched upon the movie.
The best episode was the one about The Twilight Zone: The Movie. - DirectorDavid LoweryStarsDev PatelAlicia VikanderJoel EdgertonA fantasy retelling of the medieval story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.Well-made and visually stunning, but ... it actually bored me. To me it was like Alice in Wonderland or Pinocchio, with the main character just going through some weird situations that have no connection whatsoever.
Or maybe I just didn't get it, which can't be ruled out. - DirectorAndrew JonesStarsNigel BarberSuzanne DallawayLee BaneA cash strapped student who starts working the night shift at a Museum suspects that one of the exhibits, a creepy vintage doll named Robert, is alive and wreaking havoc after hours.Budget must have been a hot meal and a ride home. One extra star for the cute guy.
- CreatorDoug MoenchStarsOscar IsaacEthan HawkeMay CalamawySteven Grant discovers he's been granted the powers of an Egyptian moon god. But he soon finds out that these newfound powers can be both a blessing and a curse to his troubled life.Kind of a mess. Half was non-sensical, the other half just plain boring and dragging on.
- DirectorColin TrevorrowStarsChris PrattBryce Dallas HowardLaura DernFour years after the destruction of Isla Nublar, Biosyn operatives attempt to track down Maisie Lockwood, while Dr Ellie Sattler investigates a genetically engineered swarm of giant insects.I went in expecting nothing and ... I got nothing.
Howard and Pratt's characters were never interesting enough to carry more than one movie; in fact, whenever Dern, Neill, or Goldblum is on screen, you forget that Howard and Pratt are in it, until they're rammed back down your throat. And they're still written like a couple from a 1950s movie.
Dull and soulless script. There are some good ideas, but they're never expanded upon.
Early on in the movie Howard and Pratt go on a "side quest" to Malta, and that whole sequence feels like a Bourne-movie with dinosaurs, and ultimately doesn't have a whole lot of impact on the "plot". Dichen Lachman is there during this sequence; I like the actress, but she has zero to do with the rest of the movie.
It's like a "best of" of the whole franchise, and there is not ONE tense scene. They try, but as it all is just rinse and repeat, you never get the feeling that anyone is in danger.
They take NO chances with the story or characters (well, there is one lady that may be a lesbian, but that's about it).
Please, let this franchise go extinct. - DirectorChristopher CainStarsPat MoritaHilary SwankMichael IronsideMr. Miyagi is back and he takes a new pupil under his wing: a troubled adolescent girl.Totally unnecessary sequel/reboot. Sanitized as all hell compared to the other KK movies, and barely a fight in sight.
- DirectorPaul SchraderStarsDennis HopperPenelope Ann MillerEric BogosianIn a twisted 1950's where everyone does magic, a private detective investigates a murder case without it.Weird and slow.
- DirectorPark Chan-wookStarsMia WasikowskaNicole KidmanMatthew GoodeAfter India's father dies, her Uncle Charlie, who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her unstable mother. She comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives and becomes increasingly infatuated with him.I don't know if it was the script, the directing, the editing, or all of the above, but this movie annoyed the sh!t out of me. Even worse was the sound design, which annoyed the double sh!ts out of me.
So, in essence, both annoying and boring.
At least there was a little Dermot Mulroney and Lucas Till to look at. - DirectorDavid Gordon GreenStarsJamie Lee CurtisAndi MatichakJames Jude CourtneyThe plot follows the outcast Corey Cunningham who falls in love with Laurie Strode's granddaughter while a series of events, including crossing paths with Michael Myers, drives him to become a serial killer. This was The Rise of Skywalker of the Halloween franchise. Which means it could have been a LOT better. They veered too far from the main story in an attempt to do something new – which I’m usually all for, but it just didn’t work.
- DirectorAdam RobitelStarsTaylor RussellLogan MillerDeborah Ann WollSix people unwillingly find themselves locked in another series of escape rooms, slowly uncovering what they have in common to survive. Joining forces with two of the original survivors, they soon discover they've all played the game before. What a crappy movie. The first one wasn’t great, but at least it was fun. Starts off right after the first one ended, but I don’t remember the main character behaving like a 12 year old girl in the first one. It was a short movie that still managed to drag on, and the dialogue was empty. Literally everything anyone said was repeated with different words 2 seconds later.
- CreatorGuillermo del ToroStarsLize JohnstonKevin KeppyF. Murray AbrahamBizarre nightmares unfold in eight tales of terror in a visually stunning, spine-tingling horror collection curated by Guillermo del Toro.I really wanted to love this show, but either my expectations were too high, or there wasn't much quality content to find.
Production values, directing, and most of the performances were top notch. However, most of the episodes started strong and then descended into stupidity.
Like, episode 7 had a great first 40+ minutes, but that was completely butchered in the last 10.
Episode 8 was the only episode I liked from start to finish.
I liked, though, how it seemed like writers and directors were given pretty free reigns.
When dividing my score for the entire series, my final score ends on 5.1/10. - DirectorPatrick BriceStarsSydney ParkThéodore PellerinAsjha CooperThe graduating class at Osborne High is being targeted by a masked assailant, intent on exposing the darkest secret of each victim, and only a group of misfit outsiders can stop the killings.Bad and boring.
- DirectorJames CameronStarsSam WorthingtonZoe SaldañaSigourney WeaverJake Sully lives with his newfound family formed on the extrasolar moon Pandora. Once a familiar threat returns to finish what was previously started, Jake must work with Neytiri and the army of the Na'vi race to protect their home.Stunning to look at. That's the only praise I can give it.
Beat for beat the almost exact same story as the first, but with none of the excitement or interesting characters (I know the first one is a bubblegum movie, but I like it a lot).
Scenes draaaagging out, weird and abrupt editing, and generally nothing to keep you interested.
No matter your views on the first movie you would do best to wait for streaming - or skip it altogether. - DirectorAndy SerkisStarsTom HardyWoody HarrelsonMichelle WilliamsEddie Brock attempts to reignite his career by interviewing serial killer Cletus Kasady, who becomes the host of the symbiote Carnage and escapes prison after a failed execution.Stupid, boring, and a mess.
- DirectorChristopher LandonStarsVince VaughnKathryn NewtonCeleste O'ConnorAfter swapping bodies with a deranged serial killer, a high-school senior discovers that she has fewer than 24 hours before the change becomes permanent.Besides some fun, brutal kills, there isn't really anything worthwhile.
- DirectorBen SteinerStarsJemima RooperKate DickieSarah PaulAfflicted with a mysterious disease after surviving an overdose, a woman returns to her childhood home to confront her personal demons but instead discovers a real one.Don't quite know what to think of it. On one hand it was fascinating, on the other boring. It was weird as hell, though, and I generally liked the vibe of it.
