The overall rating (star rating) is not an average of the individual categories as some are weighted more heavily than others, and this also varies depending on the film, genre, and time period in which it was made.  It has to do more with the overall feeling from the film than anything else.  However, the screenplay and plot usually carry the most weight.  Concept/Originality takes into consideration that sequels, prequels, remakes, reboots, and book adaptations have to be based on previous works.

This list includes foreign films.
