The Fallschirmjäger were the airborne forces branch of the Luftwaffe before and during World War II. 

They were the first paratroopers to be committed in large-scale airborne operations. 

They were commanded by Kurt Student, the Luftwaffe's second-in-command.

The typical Fallschirmjäger infantry paratrooper's uniform included the paratrooper helmet M36 

During the 1939–41 period, the Fallschirmjäger uniform consisted of a pair of Field Grey trousers, a Field Blue tunic and a green jump smock.

The RZ 20 Fallschirmjäger parachute only had a single contact point, making control impossible and landing difficult. Because of this they did not jump with rifles, and instead got them from a canister attached to a separate parachute.

Does what it says on the tin, all films I have seen.

Actual films portraying the German Luftwaffe are non-existent, thus you must seek films with some type of aircraft attack scenario, or a World War II German prisoner-of-war camp, since many of the camps were run by the Luftwaffe.

Still, you can see a few German Luftwaffe aircraft in many of these films.

In Germany, stalag was a term used for prisoner-of-war camps.  

During World War II, the Luftwaffe (German air force) operated Stalag Luft in which flying personnel, both officers and non-commissioned officers, were held. 

The Kriegsmarine (German navy) operated Marlag for Navy personnel and Milag for Merchant Navy personnel.

Fort Eben-Emael

Belgian fortress located between Liège and Maastricht, on the Belgian-Dutch border. 

The fort was neutralized by glider-borne German troops (94 men)on 10–11 May 1940 during the Second World War. 

This was the first strategic airborne operation using paratroopers ever attempted in military history.  

Battle of Crete 

German assault force numbering 25,647 paratroopers and air landing troops; the Germans had recorded nearly 7,300 casualties, including 3,685 killed or missing in action. 

More than half of the losses occurred on the first day among the paratroopers of the 7th Air Division.

First of all, most movies on this list are not really bad. But they are not good either. In order not to bore you with every average movie I have seen I will restrain myself only to those of interest. That means you will find movies here that were successful at the box office but did not deserve that undue success or movies that did not stand the test of time. Other entries concern movies that are acclaimed by critics but to me are nothing short of being pretentious. Other titles could include films that were much talked about for whatever reason upon their initial release and therefore hold some kind of reputation that, however, do not qualify them for quality movies. You may also find movies here to which famous actors or directors contributed to but which are a let-down in the end nevertheless.

So, have fun browsing through my selection of the odds and sods of the movie world and let me know what you think.
