My list of movie-saves, some from 50's but mostly 60's & up that wish were available as dvd release but sadly are not... or once were and went out of print. We especially enjoy the 70's 'suspicion & suspense', 'teen trauma', and 'tragic but true' made for tv movies that started airing in the 70's as a 'movie of the week'. 

The ABC Movie of the Week and others that followed brought us some of the best... casts of wonderful actors we'd often only seen on the big screen, now in our homes... and these TvMs always had something going on that sucked you in and kept you watching :)

As much as I love my classic movie collection my favorite film genre is the "1970's Made for Tv Movies". The ABC Movie of the Week, as well as TvMs from other networks that followed, could always be counted on for a fun 90 minutes. From the late 60's to now these telefilms showcase stars from our regular tv shows in suspenseful, scary, fun & mysterious situations! 

Since so many are still unreleased on dvd I'm lucky to have quite a large collection of original & OOP Original Vhs video releases as well as many 1st satellite saves from commercial free cable... and although I only save movies not being currently released on dvd, may notice titles on my list Amazon shows as released on dvd. My saves are listed because discovered are from budget companies not released by original studio. They are what's called Public Domain titles, various companies offer... BUT... after reading many customer reviews of their dreadful quality have added titles I also have because I own nicer versions ;)

Thankfully the Tv Movie genre has hung in there... can find them  running on one channel all day long... gotta love 'em too... those cheesy, suspenseful, scary, nutjob neighbor/lover/best friend, oh woe is me tvms! I don't even mind the ones with commercials... can't fast forward fast enough to see what's coming next :-0

Rewinding the '80s is a series of lists in which I indulge in a massive nostalgia trip by revisiting my favorite era in pop culture.  I am watching and/or re-watching numerous titles from that golden, glorious decade and listing them all here for posterity. This includes feature films, made-for-TV movies and miniseries, individual TV episodes, and short films, all listed in chronological order by their original release/air dates. Many of these titles were seen during their original releases.  Some were watched in later years.  Others still, I am viewing for the first time.

In March of 1980, I was 7 years old and in second grade, and  this  (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078607/) was my favorite show. Or more precisely as many films (and TV shows) as I can find (excluding documentaries) about, set or with characters shaped by the civil war. Despite the title of this list it contains not only the good films, but the bad and several downright ugly ones as well!

1-73 Films seen which are set wholly or mostly during the civil war and where it plays an important part in the story being told.

74-143 Films seen which are completely set within the civil war era. These may be partially or completely set during the civil war itself but where the war is not really an important part of the story. Other films set in the post-war period include solid references to the war or have major characters who are veterans of the war.

144-157 Films seen which have flashback scenes set during the war or important references to it, but where the film as a whole is not actually set during the civil war era.

158+ Films not yet seen or which I don't recall seeing but otherwise match one of the three categories above. My intention, if possible, is to watch all of these as well.

Within each of the first three categories, the films are loosely ordered with my favourites first. The final category is ordered by year with the most recent films first.

Titles in our media library that we've saved over the years on vhs trying to find time to transfer to dvd-r. Have so many movies and friends are always asking to borrow favorites or movies they heard of but have never seen, so hoping this list will help us organize our collection :)
