It all started with a simple idea inspired by the movie Hackers. That one scene where a TV network was hacked to access its archives lit a spark in me. I wanted that access, that connection too everything, all at my fingertips.

My whole media liberty consist of 14,163 files that 800 movies and 99 TV shows, that 16.1% of what Netflix’s offers.  I started back in 2013 putting together my media liberty.

Going thou endless lists of “must-watch and best of, trying to find the titles that resonated with me. I spent days, even weeks, revisiting memories of the films that defined my childhood, painstakingly searching for rare gems that sparked joy or provoked thought. There were moments of triumph—finally tracking down a film I thought I’d never see again and moments of heartbreak when I lost my archive to technology failures or life’s unpredictability. But every time, I started over, rebuilding it piece by piece, making it better than it was before.

This archive isn’t just a collection of films. It’s a reflection of my journey: my tastes, my memories, and my desire to hold onto the stories that matter most. In today’s world, with countless streaming services vying for attention, it’s easy to get lost in the sea of content. That’s why this project feels even more vital now. Spanning from the Silent Film era to today’s most groundbreaking releases. 

Through the years, this project has taught me patience, resilience, and the value of holding onto what truly matters.  How big will this archive grow? I don’t know. What I do know is that there still so many movies that I've had yet to discovered and I look forward to finding them.
