Chris Hume graduated from Bard College in New York with a degree in Cinema. He also won the Maya Deren Prize in his graduating class - for excellence and commitment to Cinema. Chris' parents are Alexis Gershwin and writer, Edward Hume.
After moving to Los Angeles, Chris formed "Shoot and Run Productions", under which he produced numerous documentaries. His projects have taken him from the streets of Havana, Cuba, to the volcanic slopes of Montserrat, to the subway tunnels of Los Angeles, to the hurricane ravaged Gulf Coast, to the barrios of Caracas Venezuela, and most recently, across ten thousand miles of American Heartland in 'Red State Road Trip".
Chris is an editor by trade, having made a career editing movie trailers. Some of his feature film trailers included "Fahrenheit 9/11", "Corpse Bride", "Looper", "Shakespeare In Love", "Rush Hour", "Waiting for Superman", and "Amelie". Chris produced and edited a tribute featurette on Alejandro G. Inarritu for the LACMA fundraiser, 2015.
Other Trailers and Featurettes of note include, Confessions of an Eco Terrorist" (The story of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society), "How to Train Your Dragon 2", "Ice Age 5", "Orgasm, Inc. and "Charles Shulz' Peanuts Movie".
Chris has won Key Art Awards for "Don't Drink Your Juice in the Hood", "Men in Black", "Rush Hour", "The Bridge", "Looper", and most recently "Alice: Through the Looking Glass". He won a Golden Trailer Award for "Fahrenheit 9/11".
