The Barone family? Messy, dysfunctional, and always up in each other’s business. That’s why we loved them. Ray dodging his parents, Debra fighting for space, Robert being, well, Robert. It gave us classic moments we’re still quoting.

These legends of laughter continued to light up the entertainment world, each carving out a legacy that rivals their time on the show.MEGAPeter Boyle Mega

Before Everybody Loves Raymond, Peter Boyle appeared in Joe (1970), The Candidate (1972), Young Frankenstein (1974) and Taxi Driver (1976), as well as on and off-Broadway. Fans adored him in the role of Ray and Robbie's deadpan, slightly cranky dad, Frank.

However, off-screen, he was nothing like his coarse character. Instead, he was a friendly, warmhearted guy.

"He made me feel welcome," said Ray Romano. "He made me feel part of the club."

Shortly after the sitcom wrapped, Boyle died of multiple myeloma and heart disease in 2006 at age 71.

Doris Roberts Mega

As the overbearing Marie, the Barone family matriarch, Doris Roberts doted on her sons while berating her two daughters-in-law and bickering with her husband.

Roberts earned four Emmys for her work on the series and, like Boyle,...

Every Clint Eastwood Dirty Harry Movie, Ranked
Image
Clint Eastwood has been many things throughout his remarkable career: one of the most legendary cowboys of all time, one of Hollywood's most prolific directors, and also one of the silver screen's most iconic antiheroes, squinting, grimacing, and grinding his teeth through five performances as the San Francisco cop who plays by his own set of rules, "Dirty" Harry Callahan.

From 1971 to 1988, Clint Eastwood wrestled with the ever-changing American sociopolitical scene in real-time as one of cinema's most controversial (and beloved) characters. The Dirty Harry franchise has since come to be defined by the reactionary nature of its central premise. However, the further the franchise moved away from its first entry, the more interesting things got in terms of hot-button issues and Dirty Harry's response to them. Ultimately, Dirty Harry never evolved into anything much more than a cool-headed modern-day gun-slinger, but that's what continues to make these movies so damn entertaining to watch,...

‘Evil’ Renewed For Season 2 By CBS; ‘All Rise’, ‘Carol’s Second Act’, ‘The Unicorn’ & ‘Bob ♥ Abishola’ Get Back Orders
CBS has ordered additional episodes of all five of its freshman series. Drama Evil, which was designed to produce 13-episode seasons, has been renewed for a second season to premiere in 2020-2021. New drama All Rise and comedies Carol’s Second Act, The Unicorn and Bob ♥ Abishola all have received back orders for the 2019-2020 broadcast season.

Per usual, CBS calls them full-season orders, though I hear at least some are partial ones. Like all Chuck Lorre-CBS series, Bob ♥ Abishola is believed to have received a Back 9 pickup; the orders for the others are about five episode each, I hear.

While none has been a breakout hit, CBS’ freshman series have been solid performers in total viewers by this fall’s ratings standards.

Boosted by a delayed viewing bump, Evil, created by Michelle and Robert King, is averaging more than 7.1 million viewers in Nielsen Live+7. The thriller drama will...
