Vasiliy Ilyashenko was born on 5 April 1935 in Chekhovka, Ukrainian SSR, USSR [now Poltava Oblast, Ukraine]. He was a director and writer, known for Obitnytsia (1992), Pritcha pro svetlitsu (1994) and Krutoy gorizont (1970). He died on 29 November 2014 in Kiev, Ukraine.
