New Delhi, August 2 (Ians) Actors Rajkummar Rao, Gulshan Devaiah and Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming series ‘Gun & Gulaabs’ has everything that one witnessed in the 1990s.

Introduced as ‘Guns & Gulaabs’, namcheen gangsters ki kahaani, the trailer is loaded with dialogue delivery harping on adjectives, larger than life action and sprinkled with humour, will release on Netflix on August 18.

The trailer received whistles when Rajkummar’s character Paana Tipu says: “Hilne ki koshish ki toh tere ando ka omelette bana dunga.”

The over two minute long trailer showcased pop cultures references, guns and goons, retro references.

Notable film and music figures came together, including major names from the west such as Steven Spielberg and Mick Jagger, who offered special messages of support, and Annie Lennox and Ed Sheeran, who performed virtually. Saturday’s episode of ‘The Voice India’ began with the public voting results of team Mika and team Shaan. Host Karan reminded viewers that the winner would receive a record deal with Universal Music and prize money. The special guest for this episode was legendary playback singer Usha Utthap. As various reports suggest, legendary veteran playback singer and performer Usha Uthup will be appearing on Saturday’s episode this week. Citylights is an upcoming drama starring National Award winning actor Rajkummar Rao and Patraleka in the leading roles. The film has been directed by Hansal Mehta, famed for directing the critically acclaimed Shahid (2013), which also starred Rajkummar Rao.

Citylights is based on a farmer who migrates with his wife and child to Mumbai in search for a better life. Mumbai, April 2: Usha Uthup, a powerhouse of singing talent, has lent her voice for the title track of "Revolver Rani", which features Kangana Ranaut in the role of a gangster woman.

This is the first time that Uthup, who can effortlessly croon in 24 languages, has given playback for Kangana.

"Usha-ji has sung the title track of 'Revolver Rani'. We wanted someone who had a husky deep voice and who better than Usha-ji to sing for us! Mumbai, Oct 24: Singers like Usha Uthup and Kumar Sanu have condoled Manna Dey's death and say nobody can take his place and that the legend will live with them forever through music.

Dey was admitted to a hospital in Bangalore following a respiratory ailment and renal failure. He was on ventilator support for some time. He was 94.

Kolkata, Aug 16: Iconic jazz singer and performer Pam Crain, whose voice mesmerised generations of fans in the eastern metropolis, died here due to cardiac arrest, said her husband Don Saigal.

The 80-year-old crooner was suffering from respiratory problems that led to a cardiac arrest Wednesday.

Known for her singing talents that matched her beauty, Crain regaled masses and gave an identity to the city's nightlife through her regular stints at various clubs in the city's hip and stylish Park Street area.

New Delhi, July 12: Popular singers like Usha Uthup, Kailash Kher and Sunidhi Chauhan will share some of their most memorable moments from their personal and professional lives on a new show titled "Sureeli Baat".

The show, to be aired on Hindi news channel Aaj Tak on Staurday, will be hosted by Mala Sekhri. It is starting July 27 and Sukhwinder Singh, famed for numbers like "Chhaiya chhaiya" and "Jai ho", will be the first guest.

It is an attempt to connect the viewers with the musical geniuses of recent times. Some other names to feature on the show are Shaan, Sukhwinder Singh, Kk, Jasbir Jassi and Amit Kumar, who will talk.
