The trailer for Stranger Things season 2 from this year’s Comic-Con has plenty of Upside Down details. Our Us chums take a closer look…
With Stranger Things season 2 getting ready to air on October the 27th, right before Halloween, it seems appropriate that its trailer not only include plenty of horrific images of the Upside Down but also feature the chilling voiceover of late, great king of horror, Vincent Price, straight out of Michael Jackson’s Halloween favorite, Thriller. With plenty of 80s nostalgia and hints at answers to long-held questions, the Stranger Things season 2 trailer, which you can view here, has plenty to analyze. It’s one of Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley’s most famous moments in their nine years as Cma Awards co-hosts: the time, in 2014, when Paisley told the world that Underwood, who was five months pregnant, would be having a baby boy.

She and her husband, Mike Fisher, “try to keep certain things for ourselves,” she explained, “and that was kind of one of them.”

There's a second full trailer for Doctor Who series 9, and here's what we unpacked inside it...
So, another trailer, another reason to slump in disappointment or dance excited dances of delight, complete with giddy handclaps. Or somewhere in between. All are valid, but if you're reading this, you're probably erring somewhere towards the enthused anticipation and leg shaking: Doctor Who is coming back on September the 19th. It's going to have pictures and noises, and we've got proof of this here:
We've gone through this trailer with wide-eyed alacrity and, what's more, we've noticed some things. We suspect you have too. Let's share.
Peter Capaldi looks worried here, but then this trailer has a fair few new monsters on the last one we saw. However, he's not worried about being a good man or saying 'Into Darkness' like a man in a trailer anymore. This is a series about two friends going on adventures.

New mystery thriller Wayward Pines feat. Matt Dillon arrives today on Fox. Here are a few reasons you might want to watch it...
“Welcome to Wayward Pines, where paradise is home”.
The louder a fictional small town shouts about being heaven on Earth, the higher the probability that it is in fact, an axis of evil. As a rule, if the town sign features a beaming family and a cheery slogan, you’ll be lucky to make it to sundown without being kidnapped, cannibalised or having your severed spine used as a xylophone in the local middle school’s ossuary orchestra.
(It’s all a matter of irony. Small towns with dark secrets love irony in a town slogan. It gives them a pleasant break from all that ritualised murder and alien probing.)

Back in business school I learned that there are many different styles of leadership. A good leader has several different styles at his or her fingertips and employs them based on the particular situations at hand. But this week I’d like to focus on two people who lead in a manner that’s generally not easily recognized. They lead, and in doing so contribute to their community and help build character by getting out of the way.

3. When they make Dermot dance.
What are the odds that Dermot will be twerking by the end of this year's series?
4. The incredible showmances.
Eggnog Quigglet and The Vickers way back in series 5. I bet The Vickers still has that Vote for Eggnog t-shirt under her pillow.
Harry Styles and Caroline Flack in series 7. A romance for the ages. Very different ages.
That woman who replaced Goldie Cheung. Some guy who was in a rubbish boyband. Yeah, series 8 was a bit rubbish.
Tesco Mary always denied it, but the sexual power of Wagner must surely have been too powerful to resist back in series 7.

Following a summer season dominated by animation and action blockbusters, cinemas welcomed a more grownup programming mix after kids and teens went back to school after the long holiday. The reliable Richard Curtis delivered another box-office chart-topper, About Time, thanks to a debut of £1.76m, including £385,000 in Wednesday/Thursday takings. That's almost dead level with the opening salvo of 2009's The Boat That Rocked: £1.80m, including £471,000 in previews.
The Boat That Rocked was an expensively made film that ended up with a weak £6.2m total in the UK – a massive disappointment after the £36.8m success of 2003's Love Actually. About Time suggests itself as...

Los Angeles — A look at key moments this past week in the wrongful death trial in Los Angeles between Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine Jackson, and concert giant Aeg Live LLC, and what is expected at court in the week ahead:
The Case
Jackson's mother wants a jury to determine that the promoter of Jackson's planned comeback concerts didn't properly investigate Dr. Conrad Murray, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter by a criminal jury for Jackson's June 2009 death. Aeg's attorney says the case is about personal choice, namely Jackson's decision to have Murray serve as his doctor and give him doses of a powerful anesthetic as a sleep aid. Millions, possibly billions, of dollars are at stake.
What Happened This Past Week
_ Dr. Christine Quinn, a dental anesthesiologist, described a meeting with Jackson at a Beverly Hills hotel in which the singer asked her to give him the anesthetic propofol to help him sleep.

Critically derided they may be, but there's a lot to love in Steve Martin's two Pink Panther movies, Patrick writes...
To start with, it is probably worth noting that I rate The Pink Panther 2 over the preceding yarn. Unfortunately few agree - the sequel to the not-much-of-a-hit 2006 Steve Martin comedy is gauged even lower than the first on Rotten Tomatoes, with the consensus being that in “underutilizing its talented cast, The Pink Panther 2 is little more than a series of lame slapstick gags.”
I, however, beg to differ, both episodes of the rebooted Pink Panther twosome are serviceable and convivial salutes to Peter Sellers’ original movies. Steve Martin takes the plum role of Inspector Clouseau, the clodhopping gendarme whose entire career seemingly pivots around the recovery of the precious Pink Panther diamond. Martin has perfect comic timing, conveying the good inspector’s heavy-handed,...

Bill Nighy didn't want to be the Doctor despite being approached about the role, he tells the Daily Express...
One of the acting business' unspoken rules, even more widely enforced than that "plenty of water and exercise" lie explaining how Hollywood's elite remain paragons of youth and physical beauty while the rest of us watch our faces slide inexorably to the floor like fried eggs from a greasy plate, is never to confess which roles you turned down. It's indecorous, self-important, and unfair to your colleagues.
Which is why of course, actors are always talking about it. They want to tell us, and boy, do we the viewing public want to hear. Imagining the might-have-been actor and role combos, the parallel worlds in which Michael Jackson starred in Labyrinth instead of Bowie, or Gillian Anderson played Lady Cora in Downton Abbey is a fun game.

Linda Harvey attends Pride, fears AIDS, David Hasselhoff shills for coffee, Andrew Keenan-Bolger hits the right notes in his skivvies.
Tim Hardaway was the first signer of the Florida marriage equality petition. Hardaway made headlines a few years ago saying that he didn’t like gay people and was homophobic. He did some image rehab to become an equality supporter after the backlash. On a side note, I met him a few times when I was working in Florida, and found him to be a very unpleasant man. While I appreciate the support, based on personal experience, I’m not buying it.
A 20-year-old man is in jail after shooting a man at the St. Peteresburg Pride festival. He came to Pride to let the gays know exactly what he thought of him before shooting a man with a Bb gun. Thankfully, the victim wasn’t seriously injured.

(Rns) When Christian music veteran Carman found out on Valentine’s Day that he had terminal cancer, he thought God just might be calling him home because he had nothing more to give.
“I’ve had so many harsh things happen to me over the last 12 years, it was almost a situation that made sense,” he said after he was given three to five years to live and no chance of being cured of multiple myeloma, a cancer of the blood that affects the bone marrow.
“I thought I could see this coming to a close,” Carman said in an interview. “I wasn’t really doing anything. I’ve had hardly any requests for concerts. I wasn’t recording. I wasn’t productive. The things I needed to do best, I wasn’t doing. I figured my time was up.”

This week with the divas, we slowly inched our way back to an atmosphere of sisterly love and support after the drama overload of last week. Slowly. We also got to see a spotlight on our girl Monifah, which is always more than welcome. The episode begins with Mo over at Latocha’s house, where Mo invites her to New York for the showcase she’s putting on for her birthday. Not only is it her sort of reintroduction to the musical world as who she is now, it’s the first time she’s played a show in New York, her hometown, in over ten years. As the official title of this episode says, work it, girl.
As Mo leaves Atlanta on her trek to The City, she obviously calls up her friend Queen Latifah to ask her if she’ll be around for the showcase.

London — A British court sentenced two hackers to 100 hours of community service on Friday for stealing a treasure trove of unreleased music – including Michael Jackson tracks – from the U.S. servers of Sony Music Entertainment.
Officials said that music aficionados James Marks, 27, and James McCormick, 26, used their home computers to access Sony's servers and scour them for Jackson-related material. The pair downloaded nearly 8,000 files, including completed or partial tracks, artwork, and videos relating to Jackson and other unspecified Sony artists.
The precise nature of the unreleased material hasn't been made clear – Sony refused to comment on the case. A statement from Britain's Serious and Organized Crime Agency identified some of the material as stems, which are audio tracks that can be used in mixes and overdubs.

American country music star Tim McGraw has sold over 40 million records, had 21 consecutive albums hit No 1 on the Billboard charts, and even ventured into acting - starring alongside Sandra Bullock, Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Married to fellow country singer Faith Hill, Stetson-wearing Tim is now about to find fame in the comic book world.
His journey from humble beginnings to become the slickest voice in the West is charted in Bluewater Productions' upcoming biographical comic Fame: Tim McGraw, due out in September 2012.
The comic was written by David A. McIntee with art by artist Jed Mickle and a cover by William Sleeper.
"It was fun to do," McIntee said. "Tim has had a wider career and area of interest than people might think. I loved the chance to do something with a hint of the Western, to go with the musical genre. I think his fans will enjoy that tone to it.

The offices of Spike Lee's Brooklyn-based production company "40 Acres and a Mule," are buzzing -- dozens of people working, eating, talking and taking pictures. The walls are covered in movie and sports collectibles, signs and artwork. There are abstract portraits of Michael Jordan and Muhammed Ali; a framed Sal's pizza box from Spike's seminal 1989 film, "Do the Right Thing"; a collage of Michael Jackson photos; a Reggie Miller-signed Indiana Pacers jersey (seriously); and a street sign with the N-word prominently printed in the center with a giant red strike through it. Overwhelming as these surroundings are, I have one thought going into my Q+A with Spike: "Will he be the interview subject everyone says he is? The controversial, ornery, take-no-prisoners filmmaker?" The atmosphere at his office only reinforces the notion that this is his place, and whatever he says, goes. However, the Spike Lee I meet, in...

We were chatting with Chase about the March 18 Drawing Hope International Gala Masquerade event in Beverly Hills, for which she is providing some of her trademark cultural fusion cuisine. London — Two men have been charged in Britain with hacking into Sony Music's computers and stealing music, the company and British police said Monday. A person familiar with the situation said the hackers had obtained unreleased Michael Jackson tracks.
Sony Music Entertainment spokeswoman Liz Young said the company noticed a breach of its systems in May, "and immediately took steps to secure the site and notify authorities. As a result, the two suspects were arrested."
She said no customer data were compromised in the attack on the company's internal music-sharing system.
Sony would not confirm how much music was stolen or what artists were involved. But a person familiar with the situation, who was not authorized to speak publicly, said Monday that the suspects were Jackson fans and had taken his music, including unreleased material.
