Father of François Maistre.

He later became director of Théâtre Sarah Bernhardt and created the 'Festival international de la ville de Paris which became le Théâtre des nations.

Founding member of 'La compagnie des quinze' theater troupe with Suzanne Bing , Marguerite Cavadasky, Marie-Hélène Dasté , Marie Madeleine Gauthier, Auguste Bovério , Jean Dasté and Jean Villard . He also was with Jean Villard as Gilles in a singing duo called Gilles et Julien.
