- Helena Kallianiotes was born in Greece. At age 10 she came to America and lived in Boston, Massachussetts. At 16 she started belly dancing in Boston night clubs. In 1958 she left Boston and worked as a belly dancer across the U.S. She settled in California, where she belly danced at The Greek Village on Hollywood Boulevard and in San Francisco. She also belly danced in Elko and Las Vegas, Nevada. She taught folk and belly dancing at The Intersection and owned a private skating ring, Skate Away, and a private supper club, Helena's.
