    • Hape Kerkeling was born on December 9, 1964 in Recklinghausen, North Rhine-Westphalia, West Germany. He is an actor and writer, known for Total Normal (1989), Kein Pardon (1993) and Horst Schlämmer - Isch kandidiere! (2009).

Trivia

  • In 1991, he parodied Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands of the Netherlands and was driven in a limousine to the Berlin residence of Germany`s president. Just ten minutes later, the real queen arrived.
  • He speaks German, Spanish, Italian, French, English (also Dutch) and has a talent for imitating languages.
  • One of Germany's most popular comedians.
  • After going on a pilgrimage, following the Way of St. James in 2001, he wrote a book named "Ich bin dann mal weg - Meine Reise auf dem Jakobsweg" about his experiences and his "meeting with God". The book, originally not intended to be published, has topped the non-fiction bestseller list since May 2006 and became the most successful non-fiction book in Germany since World War II.
