Comedian, author and Archibald Finalist Anh Do returns to the ABC for season six of Anh’s Brush with Fame, premiering on March 30 at 8.00pm on ABC and ABC iview.

This series will see Do paint and interview Jamie Durie, Dr Harry Cooper, Missy Higgins, Kate Ritchie, Peter Garrett, former Justice of the High Court, Michael Kirby and Gai Waterhouse.

Adelaide Film Festival has revealed its full program for 2020, including the world premieres of local titles When Pomegranates Howl, Yer Old Father, This is Port Adelaide, ShoPaapaa, and more, as well as a special strand dedicated to Australian indies.

Overall, the biennial festival – due to be an entirely physical event thanks to dedicated Covid-Safe plans – has snared a total of 54 features from more than 40 countries, including 22 world premieres and 27 Australian premieres.

As previously announced, the festival will open with Seth Larney’s sci-fi thriller 2067, starring Kodi Smit-McPhee, Ryan Kwanten and Deborah Mailman, and will close out with the Sundance Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award winner, Lee Isaac Chung’s Minari.

This was just not a good weekend for gay entertainment buffs. Not only did we lose Julia Sugarbaker (Dixie Carter), but we lost one of the last surviving Munchkins. Word comes from Florida that Meinhardt Raabe, the Munchkin who pronounced the Wicked Witch of the East “most sincerely dead” has himself been pronounced at the age of 94. A last minute addition is the loss of Eddie Carroll, who had voiced Jiminy Cricket for Disney since 1973. He was 66-years-old.
